It's annoying that there are 3 days off for the Mavs between the first and second game of their one and one with Portland... helps their old legs. We need them to lose both of those games OR if they split them, to lose both after the Warriors/Blazers sandwich @DEN and @SAC.... Let's do this! Pick #11 please....

I see that Gordon is out indefinitely for the Jazz with plantar fasciitis.  That stinks.

Very bad.  I think the next 2 Utah games are the season in terms of them having a real shot at taking Dallas out of the playoffs.   Back-to-back tonight and tomorrow at chicago and Milwaukee.  Both games winnable, but I'm afraid they may lose both.   Dallas, meanwhile has a touch stretch, but followed by an easier stretch just as Utah's schedule gets brutal.  If Utah doesn't go up by two games over the next week, I think Dallas will easily make the playoffs.

Don't underestimate how poorly Dallas has been playing, though.  It seems like there will be nothing easy about them making the playoffs (hopefully).

Hope you are right.   I thought Utah had a terrible stretch upcoming after their current road trip, but actually they have more winnable games than I thought.  Yeah, should be interesting even if the Jazz lose the back-to-backs today/tomorrow.  But, going at least 2-3 on this road trip seems like it's going to be important.

over their last 10 games:

mavs 3-7
utah  5-5

if it continues, the celtics will have the 12th pick locked up. wow, i cant believe how well danny has done in accumulating potentially great assets.

a great mind and a little luck, a fantastic combo.

Big day for the Dallas pick.  Portland at Dallas and Utah at Milwaukee.  Could end the day in a tie for 8th (or tie for 9th depending on how you look at it).

What will life be like when we are back to only caring about how the C's are doing in the standings?

That would be one bleak world out there.

Circle the date 4/11.

Dallas @ Utah

That is the 2nd to last game of the season for both the Mavericks and the Jazz.

Not only is it a two-game swing in the standings. It will be a tie breaker for who makes the playoffs. A tie in the standings will be settled by the head to head W-L percentage and the teams have split the season series up to this point.

So whether Dallas or Utah is up by 1 game in the standings going in, that matchup on 4/11 will decide who has the upper hand going into the last game of the season.

the beauty of all this is that we wont return to that state of mind for another 4 years. we have two more years of nets picks followed by the memphis pick. a good time to be a celtics fan.  ;D

Or...  all the picks go away in a trade.  Actually, the 2017 Nets swap can't be traded (as I understand it), so we'll at least have one more year of rooting against another team.

Portland was down by 12 late in the 3rd.  I'd be ecstatic if they pulled off the win.
