Turner in and or out of the lineup. Which do you prefer?

It's tough. I like Turner in certain matchups but if he doesn't have that match up then I don't want him on the floor. I really was hoping to see Turner's improved spot up shooting. I know he has been working on it but he needs IT or Smart to setup those easy shots.

I know this might sound very silly, but Rozier can get his shot ANY time he wants to, provided that knee is OK.  But, I see your point, but just slightly disagree.  I know he is a rookie.

I think I'd start him, but I want him somewhere around 7th - 10th on the team in minutes per game overall.

I think his ball handling and ability to create his own shot are valuable assets to the team, but I hope his prominence can be diminished this season.

IT4 can get his shot up or get to the line anytime he wants. He is an all star capable offenseive player

Team doesn't have a starting-quality PG yet.  need to start off with a couple of decent ballhandlers since AB isn't one and neither are the bigs who'll start.  Smart and Turner on the court at the same time is passable in terms of ballhandling while it hurts our outside shooting.

If Smart shows during the season he's capable of running the offense without help, swap Crowder into the starting line-up for Turner but then again, Crowder isn't a great outside shooter either and Turner and IT seem to clash on the court on offense since they're both ball-dominant players.

what is turners upside,he isn't that old and it's his second year with brad-wish he could get some arc on his jumper its like flatline-he does get open -
can someone post on his salary and when he hits free agency

He's a useful player.  Are there times when he drives you crazy?  Sure.  But he runs the offense Stevens wants him to run, and is someone who's not scared of taking the big shot at the end of games.  What he really needs to do is get to the foul line more.  Most good point-forwards seem to get 4-5 more free throws a game, which really helps make up for poorer shooting percentages that come with the more difficult shots of that role.

I want Turner to be a third stringer, and for RJ Hunter to get the back up minutes that would otherwise go to him.

Even if Turner is slightly better now (which I think will become debatable during the year), what is better for the franchise long term, playing a promising rookie or a guy who probably won't be on the team next year?

I've been generally down on Turner for some time, but I have to admit I liked the way he looked in the Nets game.  His handle looked tighter and he looked comfortable playing off-the-ball with Isaiah (and he did a nice job dealing assists when he was at the point without IT on the floor).

If he has worked on his handle and hopefully improves his shot efficiency, then I'm okay with him continuing for now in the same role with the Smart-Bradley combo.

If he reverts to the same-old-same-old Evan, I'd like Brad to cut the baby-sitter ties and just let Marcus try being a point.

Trade offs.

Evan _used_ to get to the line at a higher rate.  That was one of the things that changed in his game last Spring.   But the higher rate came at a cost -- more turnovers.

During the C's run to the playoffs, Turner stopped going into the paint with his dribble as much.  This drastically reduced his turnovers, but also reduced his trips to the line.

Turner seemed to exhibit a lower, tighter dribble to my naked, lying eyes in the Nets game on Wednesday.  I'm hoping that is not just a small-sample illusion and an indication he has worked on it.

If Turner is going to get minutes (and I think he should), I think he should be starting since we have playmakers in KO and IT in the 2nd unit. Because of line-ups / rotations, it also makes sense to utilize him more like Zeller with minutes at the start of the game and 2nd half, but few minutes in between.

Turner was asked to do a lot for this team last year and I think he performed admirable; however, for him to fit into Brad's system moving forward, he is going to need to learn to play off the ball more - which it appears he has been working on.
