Wow, I knew Karl and Rondo would not mix but it's only pre-season!  It is just too bad that Rondo is his own worst enemy and is completely unaware of himself.  Unreal.

Rondo will be out of the league within a year at the rate he's going.

I think Rondo was joking personally.  The Kings have been doing very well in preseason.

He thinks he runs the show.  Maybe he should go into coaching instead of playing if that's what he wants. ???

I don't think so. The Kings have been doing well, Rondo however has not. He's splitting time with Collison who is playing better than him, and who fits Karl's system better than him.

Even if Rondo is joking, it just goes further into showing how unaware he has become.  The dude got booted off of a team during the playoffs b/c his coach could not stand him, and to joke about his relationship with coaches at this point would show that he really has not learned a thing from that experience.  Either way, it's not a good look.

a rondo thread.

anyone want to place bets on what the debates here will be? ...and how many times we will have already seen them?  ;D

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Watching the video, if he's joking he has the most straight-man delivery in the history of comedy. That makes Leslie Nielsen took animated...

Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

That's always been Rondo's thing.  Deadpan humor / sarcasm.

My guess is it was intended to come across as "Well obviously (*exaggerated eye roll*) things are going just awful."

Rondo will have a bounce-back season statistically.

George Karl had been making some comments recently about how well Rondo was doing in training camp. How vocal Rondo is and how good of an example he is setting to the rest of the team. How Rondo's professionalism was a needed addition to a previously unprofessional type of environment.

Yeah. Knowing Rondo, I think he's trolling, hard. Sacto local media think this is the case too, apparently.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Rondo sarcasm.
He's doing well there right now.
We'll see how things are 25 games in and if there are cracks, they'll be opening up by then.

Cousins is going to make him look really good and vice versa.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Wouldn't exactly take much.

I'll guess something like 10 pts 8 ast 5 reb 1.5 stl on .44 / .3 / .6 shooting in 28 minutes.

With at least a few triple doubles and 15+ assist games that get people around here pining after him again.

And despite that Darren Collison will have a better RPM and the Kings will still lose more games than they win.   ;D

It's actually really amusing that Rondo is battling for minutes with Darren Collison, who at this point is more or less the prototypical "average starting point guard."  At one point in time I think I may have argued that the Celts would have been better off with Collison specifically because of his well-rounded yet unremarkable skillset.

Yeah because if Rondo really had a problem with Karl, then he would obviously go on camera and tell it to the whole world ::)
