If we somehow walked away with Simmons and Bender from the next draft---Plus make the playoffs...Danny would get Executive of the Century.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I hear ya.  Personally I feel he already deserves Executive of the Century since he walked away with talents like Rozier, Hunter, and Mickey with crappy draft slot locations.

Imagine we get two top 3 picks from Dallas and Brooklyn and take Simmons and Skal.  :D

If only it were that simple . . . .

I think the Dallas pick is Top 7 protected.

Ah yes, that's right.  I forgot about that in my moment of dreaming.  :P  I was thinking, well, it could fall outside the top 7 and then move up into the top 3 via the lottery.

But of course, then we wouldn't get to keep it.

Anyways, a top 3 pick and pick number 8 would still do quite nicely.

Imagine if the Celtics win 46-49 games like Nylon Calculus and 538 think and Brooklyn and Dallas both get top 10 picks with Brooklyn getting #1.

That'd probably be nearly as good as making the Finals. Maybe better.

If we get 1-8 I'd want Simmons and Ellenson. Two players that can handle the ball with position versatility.

I also like Diallo as the hyper athletic, long shot blocker that our defense could use.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think I will wait to decide after these guys have actually played in a real college game. My guess is half or more of the guys listed in the current top tens on Draftxpress and NBADraft.net won't be drafted in the top ten. Also, people were hollering abou. Needing to tank for this last year's draft 2-3 years ago because Towns and Okafor were supposed to be Hall of Fame type talent. After seeing them in college I seriously doubt either is an all-time great. Let's have some patience. Let's see what these 17-18 year olds can do first. My guess is could very well be salivating over a completely different set of prospects come next year's draft.

Obviously it's still early, but...

1. Ben Simmons- the obvious choice right now
2. Jaylen Brown- he seems like a better Justise Winslow to me; he'd be a great fit
3. Skal Labissiere- ultra-talented big man
4. Brandon Ingram- freak doesn't begin to describe him
5. Dragan Bender- crazy skill for a 7-footer

Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

In wildest dreams: Ben Simmons. No contest.

In reality: Jakob Poeltl wouldn't be bad.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but FWIW, the folks over @ 538 just did their projection for the nets:
http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/nba-brooklyn-nets-preview/
Projected to go 25-57, which is def has me salivating...

Similar topic, Mavs:

41-41, which in the west is probably a lottery pick
:D

Basketball Insiders predicted 4 teams will fight for the 8th seed in the West. Dallas isn't one of them.

I'd like to get one of the top picks and send it out with the next disgruntled star. Maybe Paul George was so insulted to be asked to play PF that he demands a trade and we have the best offer. Maybe The Heat under perform and decide to let Bosh go and embrace the youth movement. Something something somthing Demarcus Cousins.

If we were to use the pick, Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, or Brandon Ingram would top out my list. Dragan Bender might be the BPA but I'm still clinging to the belief that Kelly Olynyk can turn into a player, which would make Dragan Bender somewhat redundant.
