  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Pick your top 8 guys and why.
The top 4 is hard for me. I think Simmons and Labissiere are slightly ahead of Jaylen Brown and Ingram but a season of College could change everything.
If Ingram looks like he can score fluidly in college then he could be #1.
I just think that right now #1 is Simmons or Labissiere.

1)Skal Labissiere- His size, fluidity and shooting stroke are just draw dropping,.like Anthony Davis without the length for defense but an array of offensive moves and shooting stroke to make him a scoring monster one day
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMfCIQdue-g

2) Ben Simmons-After seeing Simmons' LSU combine numbers where he basically crushed all of Blake Griffins measureables, it's extremely close and will need a season of college to convince me who goes first.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4vCM_rfgvc

3)Jaylen Brown- like a small forward version Russell Westbrook. Incredible athlete with killer instincts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ8qfgtH1lQ

I think all 3 of the above want to be hall of famers and put in the work to be All Stars. They have everything- attitude, skill, talent and more potential.

4)Brandon Ingram- could go #1 overall after this college season so jury is still out.

5)Dragan Bender
6) Damian Jones
7)Check Diallo
8 ) Ivan Rabb (if he declares).

Jakob Poetl
Malik Newman
Jamal Murray

Who do you pick with each position?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'd take Ben Simmons with with my #1 pick. We are an uptempo system and Ben Simmons is an incredible athlete with amazing passing instincts. His shot worries me a bit but I believe it will develop over time.

Now lets hope something happens where one of them falls to 8 as well (Mavs pick ;) )

Simmons.  Sounds like he could be that "once in a decade" talent from the items I've read.

Plus, he would fill the Celtics biggest need.

this is a beautiful thing.

that said, I would look to trade this pick at the deadline.  if the Nets are terrible, its value will be at an all time high.

Now if both BKL and SAC are terrible by midseason ...perfect storm

Zeller, AB, Sully, Turner + 2015 BKL 1st for Cousins

Simmons.  In the videos I've seen, his ball handling and passing are incredible.  Those videos can be very deceiving, but he looks like he could be a special player.  I'm looking forward to the college season and we could have four first round picks, so it will be that much more interesting to watch.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but FWIW, the folks over @ 538 just did their projection for the nets:
http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/nba-brooklyn-nets-preview/
Projected to go 25-57, which is def has me salivating...

Similar topic, Mavs:
https://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/nba-dallas-mavericks-preview/
41-41, which in the west is probably a lottery pick

If we can get into the top five we are adding a prospect with superstar potential I would be happy with any of them.

CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon

Skal, Simmons, Jaylen, Bender

That's the dream -- one of those guys.

Toward the back half of the top 10, which is more likely, I'd go for Poeltl or Ellenson.

But who knows what the draft projections are going to look like 6 months from now.  Many of the names currently up on DX or NBADraft.net might not be in the 1st round anymore, or might not enter the draft.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Isn't it great we can root for the team to make the playoffs and hope for a top pick in the same season?

I'd go Simmons first, but I do like about 4 other guys in this class a lot too.

Check out Ingram. He plays pg a lot and (check out summer vids) and he does a dam well job with handling the ball and passing. He's also a year younger than the other top picks.
