We finished the season hot.  We were 16-30 as of Feb 1st, but went on a 24-12 tear to close out the season.   Here's a look at who contributed statistically to that run sorted by EFF:

Three names that jump out to me are the three guys who played all 36 games...  Evan Turner (arguably our best player down the stretch), Brandon Bass (shot 53.3%) and Tyler Zeller (shot 54.7%) which is mildly interesting considering Bass is getting swapped out with Lee and many figure the other two will have diminished roles this year (Turner possibly losing ball-handling duties to Smart and Zeller getting benched in favor of Amir).

Isn't EFF kind of just a measurement of how many box score events the player was associated with?

Turner had the ball in his hands a lot and so he put up significant counting stats.  Aside from a few clutch shots late in tight games, I never felt like he was anywhere close to our "best" player during that stretch.

You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Stats don't always tell the story.
"I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses
Can't define how I be dropping these mockeries."

Is the glass half-full or half-empty?
It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

7 players in double figures.

That's what jumps out.

Good call. It won't be easy to replicate that kind of teamwork but there's a pretty great indicator of where the success came from.

Agreed.  Very egalitarian offense.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Turner is severely underrated around here. I realize that he doesn't necessarily fit in with the Cs future plans, but with so many complaining about Jeff Green's empty box scores (other than points), I would have thought that ET's all-around game (including rebounding) would have made people a bit more excited.

The teamwork down the stretch really did help show what this team's new identity is going to be. So far in the pre-season, it looks as though that is still the same game plan.
