I doubt they lose to the Suns. That team is an embarrassment. Portland, on the other hand, has been one of the best teams in the NBA over the last few weeks.

I remain optimistic about their chances to lose any single given game. The Brooklyn Celtics have found a way to do what they do best, which is lose, against the Timberwolves, Lakers and 76ers already.  Great losers with plenty of preparation find a way, and they've spent most of the season losing!  ;D

TP to both
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

With the loss tonight, Brooklyn sits 8 games behind Milwaukee and 7 games behind Denver. They have 26 games left so it's feeling safe that the pick will be no worse than #5 come lottery night.

They're still 2 behind Minnesota but they've drifted ahead of Phoenix by 1 game. Given the trajctory of those 2 teams, I won't be surprised if Brooklyn finishes ahead of them. They're comfortably ahead of the Lakers and Philly by 4 games and 8 games, respectively.

It's not out of the question that LA could string together some wins and Brooklyn could just get demoralized by their position in the standings but I'm not counting on it. Regardless, a #5 slot in the lottery will be real nice.

My guess for the last month or two has been #4 heading into the lottery. I think they can stay behind Minnesota, but the Suns are garbage.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
A Suns win versus BKN would be amazing. I guess it's promising to see that the Suns didn't get demolished by SAS tonight. Would love to see the Markeiff trade give PHX a jolt, but I will be happy if Minny can get a few more wins and keep BKN at 4th.

Will Joe Johnson want a buyout? That is the question.

9 game road trip coming up, with games at Phoenix and Minnesota.  We'll know a lot more at the end of the trip.

Phoenix has had a brutal schedule of late, but has been playing relatively well against really good teams.  Lets hope they're ready for a few wins when the schedule eases up.

Suns on an 11 game losing streak. That's bad. They gotta have a little pride and want to end that streak. If it's not against Brooklyn than I don't know who it's against.

I thought Phoenix played well against the Spurs tonight too.
