I really can't imagine Johnson not starting.

I like AB, but I think it's time for him to come off the bench. I like the idea of replacing Bradley with IT and Turner with Crowder. That'd give us:
PG: IT, Turner
SG: Smart, Bradley
SF: Crowder, JJ
PF: Johnson, Lee/Sully
C: KO, Zeller

Hopefully Lee's presence will push Sully, because it does seem like he's the odd man out of the rotation. Really can't imagine us not trading probably at least two of Sully, KO, Lee, Zeller, and Johnson before February.

You didn't like JJ in there for spacing? I think I'd swap Smart for Crowder before I took out JJ, if he was an okay match with the opposing SF.

why would you entertain the thought of trading zeller-in my view zeller is one of the celts most valuable pieces- durable 7 footer that runs the court ,deadly outside shot,83% from foul line,an array of right and left handed shots, young and good teamate-
guys like zeller are not readily available and is a B starting center and A+ backup-
question -why not zeller and amir -zeller's defence not that bad and amir would certainly help him bacause he does get good position and didn't have much help last year-

Meh. I guess it should be worth pointing out that Gerald Wallace, Marcus Thornton, and Brandon Bass were part of last year's Open Practice starting squads.

Not surprising--a starter, a rotation player, and props to the old man within the top 10. (Were there also injuries?)

Two rotation players, no starters, and a towel waiver. I think the only one injured was Rajon Rondo.

Bass wasn't a starter last year until injuries occurred.

Oh, and forgot to mention Zeller... who also started in the open practice, but wasn't a starter during the season until injuries and struggles occurred.

The situation is not really the same vs. this year since we're more deep with our bigs, but all to say we shouldn't read too much into it particularly when both squads (Green and White) ended up featuring actual starters once the season began instead of selection from one color exclusively.

Yeah, but Bass and Zeller ended up starters--and even if they didn't, you'd expect all rotation players (except Sully this year?) to be starting in an intra-squad scrimimage.

And I hear you, except it really did look like IT was out there with the all-IT-complementary team. Sure, there will likely be tweaks by the end of the preseason, but the IT question makes it especially an either-or question this year.

So, no Sullinger. I like it.

Agreed.

Regardless. I put no stock into these types of things. Crowder as a two alongside Jonas? I don't see that ever being a starting lineup and I don't even see that happening much in small spurts. When the first game of the season comes around then I will assess the starting lineup...And even then, I bet our starters will change a lot based on matchups.
