Why Were Latest Forum Topics removed from home page?

This is where I go 99% of the time.  I am far less inclined to visit the site if it is buried.

My guess is that a lot of other viewers feel the same way.

Is this a temporary glitch, or an intended design choice?

The forums crashed a couple of days ago. It probably has to do with that.
