http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/239216/Adidas-Signs-Kelly-Oubre-Terry-Rozier

Terry Rozier has signed an endosment deal with Adidas along with fellow recent draft pick Kelly Oubre. Think this is very positive news for several reasons.

-Adidas clearly think that Rozier is going to be a player, given that they wouldn't invest millions in a someone who they project to flame out or have a mediocre career.

-The financial stability will allow Rozier to be patient waiting for a spot to open up for him. Even down to the respect factor, if any one questions his lack of minutes he can point to his bank account.

-A Celtics player will be in those great Adidas and foot locker spots. Haven't laughed from a commercial in a long time until this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xAfuotFMd0 Edit: Just realized Harden's wearing Nike in this ad. He's signed with Adidas since then

-He can hire a personal Sugar Ranch Pasta Sandwich Chef.

Potential Negative...

- Some folks believe Adidas Shoes lead to players getting injured shortly after signing their contracts. Rose, Dwight Howard, KG was wearing Adidias the year he went down. Lillard seems to have remained pretty healthy.

Congrats Terry!

no disrespect to Rozier but the kid has done jack.  Why would Adidas sign him and Oubre? even to minor deals

Sullinger signed with Jordan brand??  Sullinger signed under Papa John's pizza would make more sense

Doesn't everyone have some kind of shoe deal?

I don't find this to be big news.

Does a mid-1st round pick with little name recognition really get signed for millions?  Without knowing for sure I'd guess those kind of deals start closer to the 5 figure a year range.

Adidas or any shoe company for that matter would sign rookies to deals before any playing time because they are hedging investments. In the event the rookies blow up they will have them on an affordable contract for a few years before re-negotiation takes place.

Most everyone does.  I remember reading about Matt Bonner going several years without a sneaker deal and eventually went to Twitter to beg New Balance for a deal.  They declined but another company stepped up.

nearly all high profile rookies sign sneaker endorsement deals straight out of the draft. I think it is more of a thing between nike/adidas/UA competing for new faces.

I guess Hunter doesn't get a thread, he signed with Nike weeks ago.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
