Robertson
Jordan
Bird
KG
Hakeem

I was going to go with Bron and Thomas, but I wanted the spacing offered by Bird and the overall dominance of Big O.

That's mine too.

Looking at Roy's team above which was a consideration, I think swapping Duncan for KG in order to get the upgrade from Stockton to Big O makes sense. Especially since with all that offense KG could focus almost exclusively on D and would be an absolute menace on that end.

I came up with the same exact team.   It is a team one with everything.  LeBron is not getting a whole lotta of love.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Hakeem Olajuwon ($1)
Kevin Garnett ($1)
Scottie Pippen ($1)
Micahel Jordan ($5)
John Stockton ($2)

That's a defensive powerhouse if I ever saw one. And I have $5 dollars left in change. Maybe I should use it to build a new stadium.

I wanted Lebron as I think he is the perfect player in this setting, but I couldn't come up with a reasonable lineup at some of the other positions.  This is the best Lebron one I had.

Hakeem - 1
KG - 1
Lebron - 5
West - 3
Magic - 5
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Stockton, Jordan, Pippen, Duncan, Chamberlain.

Some of these ratings are odd. Durant better than Pippen?

So I saw this on facebook and thought it was fun. You have $15 to draft a starting five.

I think Russell, Wilt is the best big man tandem in history that never played together, and I think either could play PF, but likely Russell.

I'd put both in the lineup, I'd take young KG at SF (sorry Bird). Stockton (I prefer Isiah) and MJ.

2$-Stockton
5$-MJ
1$-KG
4$-Russell
3$-Chamberlain

I will go with Wilt at center and KG at PF. Any all time team has to have Bird on it for shooting, passing, and outsmarting the opposition. With Bird's range and Wilt dominating everybody, and I do mean everybody, inside all we really need KG to do is help protect the basket and board. Throw in MJ to score when they are fouling Wilt and since I have only a couple of bucks left I pick Stockton. This guy has to be one of the more underrated players ever.

Wilt
KG
Bird
MJ
Stockton

I think a team that would be very dynamic is
$4 Big O
$5 Jordan
$1 Pippen
$2 Dirk
$3 Wilt

Dirk guarantees spacing. Also pick and roll triangle like Mavs ran between the players of Big O, Dirk and Wilt would be unstoppable. Then you add the best duo ever in Pippen and Jordan, just wow. Dirk is the only weak defender which I'm sure the other four players can make up for him.

C: Wilt Chamberlain
F: Karl Malone
F: Larry Bird
G: Scottie Pippen
G: Walt Frazier

That is my Wilt Chamberlain + Karl Malone team.

Walt Frazier at PG because he is comfortable on and off the ball which is important because Wilt will eat touches. Bird needs his too. Offense will mainly run through Wilt out of the low post. Pippen the ideal SG/SF to play on this team for the same reason. Pippen, like Frazier, can dominate games without scoring. Unselfish players to counter balance out Wilt's issues. A defensive monster of a backcourt. Wilt Chamberlain as defensive anchor. Karl Malone a tough well-rounded defensive PF. Lots of rebounding with Wilt and Bird and that big backcourt. High caliber passers throughout the lineup.

John Stockton ($2)

That's a defensive powerhouse if I ever saw one. And I have $5 dollars left in change. Maybe I should use it to build a new stadium.
I've got Hakeem, KG, Bird, Jordan, Stockton ($13). I'm fascinated by the idea that I can have Hakeem and KG in the paint. Both can space the floor to mid range (KG a little farther), both are excellent passers and high IQ players and I think, personality-wise, KG will pump up Olajuwon but defer to him on the offensive end. Defensively, they can shut down the rim and both guard 1-5. I love it so much.

The question is, with so much offensive firepower on the team, would it be better to just draft Pippen instead of Bird for defensive reasons? Or does Bird's shooting help the offense more than Pippen's defensive ability would help the already incredible defense?

Here's the other question: If I roll out of team of Stockton, West, Bird, Nowitzki, and Shaq ($13), how do you guard that team? Stockton running the break and in the half court have West running pick and rolls with Shaq and Nowitzki, 4 elite shooters and the most unstoppable interior force in modern basketball in the middle. I geuss I still defer to the defensive acumen of a team that has both Hakeem and KG but this is tempting...
