C's ready to contend with a big move?

I think we are at that point where DA is primed to make a big move.  With guys like Sully, Smart due to breakout I think we are a big move away.  What do you think?

We have too many players as it stands.  I dont see guys like Perry jones or young being cut.  It would make more sense for DA to make a trade before the season starts and fit some of these guys in.

I think you're right, except I think the window for doing it is less "the next few weeks" and more "the next full year".  Depending on protections, our 2016 picks could be even harder to fit on the roster than this bunch, let alone finding them playing time.  So that's the deadline. 
 
Not too optimistic about anything else happening in the near future.  But we're aligned to try for it, that's for sure.

At this point, I'd be surprised if Danny made a move other than to trade PJIII for a second rounder before the start of the season.  Probably will just end up waiving him.

once the season starts and hopefully our players start looking good to other teams, I would be very surprised if Danny doesn't make a fairly significant move by the trading deadline.  I would anticipate moving a PF and a Guard for a good SF or borderline-starting-quality C.

Which will be difficult to determine with our logjams.

I think 2 big moves are necessary. And then you have to consider that CLE is sporting 3 all-stars, including the best player on the planet. OKC, SA, LAC, HOU, Memphis.. basically every team in the West.. are sporting at least 2 all-star caliber players. So... where does that leave us, even if we were to score 2 all-stars? We probably have a coaching advantage over much of the league, which is great. And our depth is great... but I wonder how much of our depth we would need to give up in order to get those all-star caliber guys. Here's to hope that the BKN picks work out highly in our favor.

The Celtics still looking for a true center, I think I could have found a solution that helps both teams.

The Celtics would get a Center that would start for us.  While the Bulls receive a back up center/power forward with Olynky and Turner is a good back up for Rose or Butler.  The Bulls have been very impressed with Portis and wants to give him more minutes.  So Olynky and Portis would be there backup bigs and Noah and Gibson becomes the starters.

This team puts us at the max on a roster at 15, we can dress 13 and have two down in the d-league.  What does everybody think of the trade.  Personally I think it's a fair trade for both teams and gives each team needed players and Bulls a draft pick.  Also I think with this trade we'd be able to resign Jared Sullinger at the end of the year, I think he has a huge year, specially if he's our 6th man for our big men. 

Still gives us enough money next year to go after a max free agent if not two if we don't keep Johnson and Jerekbo.  Gasol is I believe the same type contract but not 100% sure.

No way Bulls do that. You aren't giving them anything good enough for them to give up Gasol and hurt their chances this season.

Sure, they want to develop their rookie. That doesn't mean that he is ready this year.

I can't wait till Brooklyn starts 2-9 and the vultures start to circle. Of the first 11 games they play 9 are against playoff teams from last year. It also includes 7 roads games against Memphis, San Antonio, Golden State, Houston, Sacramento, Atlanta and Bucks. Ouch.

Bulls are not trading Gasol unless this year. They are all in with him this year. Why would we go older anyway for a year.

I have a feeling we're going to see a trade after preseason starts and before the regular season starts (unless I'm mistaken about when roster need to be trimmed to 15).

I wouldn't mind getting Cousins. That's one big move I'd make depending on what we have to give up.  I don't necessarily see it hap pening though.  Mainly because i would pair him with Sully and Smart.  I wouldn't give up our nucleus to get cousins.  I'd more see him as a piece. 

Some of these other moves i don't know what stars are out there I'd even trade for.  There isn't a whole lot.  But if Sac is coming to us with a package of Cousins for KO and other players and picks where we keep our nucleus that's a deal I'd pull the trigger on I think.

I don't see a big deal happening mainly for this reason because it has to be something that makes sense for both sides.  I'm not scrapping our core to get a guy like that otherwise we are in the same boat Sac is.

I hope the big move is to trade IT AB ET Zeller right off the bat. They have little to no ceiling left and we can get something for them, like prospects and picks in 2017. We need to stick to a plan to get back to being the FAVORITES not contenders or playoff push or playoff appearance.....we are the Boston Celtics and championships only matter. This isn't baseball or hockey, we need stars/HOF type guys to win.

Do you see how making the playoffs screwed us? You got caught up in what you wanted at the moment and gave up what you wanted most. We could have had Myles Turner or Justise Winslow had we lost 3 more games. Which would have happened if Danny waived Bass and Jonas at the trade deadline......I am not one for tanking and CBS is too good of a coach and has honor....we want that. But Danny needs to do his job.
