Sure would be nice if the Brooklyn pick netted us one next year's draft, and yes that would take some time, but I feel Danny should draft two Small forwards next year or at least sign a good veteran.
With this young team if we struck gold in the draft with a rookie that came in Avg 15 ppg and 5 RPG and has future elite scoring capabilities sky's the limit.
I love Crowder and glad he's locked up here, but SF was Pierce's position and we need a stud there in the worst way. That's the key piece Ainge go find him.

We are sub-par at SG / SF and C

Assuming we go small ball - only SG / SF. Bradley is NOT a starter on a good team since he is an inefficient scorer who doesn't rebound or pass well.

If you think RJ or Young will "make the leap" - great. But our wings are our real weak spot.

I too, think we are a few pieces away from awesome.   We will be a work pail team, that gets by playing hard, not so much on our talent.

We could use a talent upgrade at every position, I agree SF seems to be on of our weakest spots right now but Crowder can improve and I love his toughness. Center needs more too, I do like Zeller for half the minutes. Bottom line Danny has to keep adding talent however possible.

I think the entire front court needs upgrading

Actually - our front court is SOLID.

Zeller is an OK starter and a good backup and Amir Johnson is solid at center as well.
As for PF - we are STACKED.

Our wing is terrible. Crowder is an undersized power forward. Jerebko is better at the 4 and even the 5. ET is sub par at either spot. AB is a bench guy at best and is an undersized PG (OK height, too slim) and a TINY SG.

Solid maybe for another playoffs appearance and to win a round, but no proven, currently AS-level, C or PF doesn't make for a 'solid' championship-caliber frontcourt at all--especially given that the C's don't have a single AS-caliber player at the other three positions either.

Once this year's rookies mature, I think the guard positions will be set--it's the front court that will need help--and the SF position is considered part of the front court.

Sure, but most teams are a LeBron / Durant / Bird / Scotty / Prime-McGrady away from being great.

our strength right now is depth, where we're stacked at each position with each guy being about as talented as the next guy. the problem is the talent level these guys share in each position is generally mediocre (except for PG).

IMO, we're a couple of awesome non-PGs away from being great.

Right now, there is ZERO indication that Young, Rozier or RJ could be starters on a contender EVER. They may turn out to be HOF players - but right now, they are more likely to be bench to deep bench guys. It is more likely that either Sully or KO breaks out since they at least each have one strong skill (rebounding for Sully, shooting for KO) that has been proven at the NBA level.

Yeah, add LeBron or Durant and we'll be great. But most other teams would be too. I think we have a solid roster without glaring holes at any particular position right now. To make the leap we need to add some star power at really any position.
