Three things

1 - How the team are performing

2 - How Smart and Bradley are performing

3 - How quickly he adapts

If the team are traveling well CBS will probably bring him along slowly but give him minutes. I am assuming that Smart and Bradley start and IT plays his 6th man role. Rozier may go to the D league if things are going really well though I suspect CBS will be keen to include him as much as possible if he adapts quickly. The competition for places is good for the team and includes Turner as well.

His (Rozier) development will certainly play a big role on the shape of the team for the future and both CBS and DA will be keen to assess that sooner than later but are clever enough not to push him too quickly. Looking forward to seeing him thrive.

He is better equipped for the NBA than Pressey ,  same drive and motor , with much better size.

Pressey played hard , great effort and all.......just couldn't hit a shot to,save his life

Rozier has much better stoke and can get off shots close to,the bucket inside 15 ft because he is taller than Pressey and just as quick and better finisher .

By mid season , we won't miss Pressey .....Rozier will be fill his shoes and do more .

Smart , Bradley , It and Rozier are a great four to have .  They should be dialed into their roles well , by mid season .......if there are no injuries .

I don't consider ET a guard ....he shouldn't even be on the team .  He is wasting his time on the Celtics and should be traded off ...ASAP

Well unless I'm incorrect this season our small forward rotation is turner, crowder (coming off knee surgery) and two stretch pf jj and perry jones.  So I don't see turner taking guard minutes.

Rotation in no order, smart, Thomas, Bradley, rosier, hunter. Oh yeah young.

I see him getting minutes no matter what.  A trade would open up more minutes ;)

Rozier will probably cacth on fast but I don't think it'll be fast enough to carve out a substantial role. He'd have to overtake Thomas, Smart, and Bradley as the main "guards." And that's before we get into guys who might be taking SG minutes, like Young and Hunter.

He'll probably get something close to Pressey-minutes, maybe a little more, but not much more unless there's a trade.

He made the ACC all-freshman team his freshman year in college.

His sophomore season he was the best player on an elite eight team that lost to Michigan State in overtime...

I think he'll be a role player at worst this season.  Guards with  such strong all around games are hard to keep off the floor.

I think he'll be a starter by next season.

If we take a big swing this season at all allstar, I think we will have to trade Marcus smart since he's our best trade chip.  That would open up a role for rozier.  Otherwise he's going to be getting reps in d league mainly.

This. The way the roster currently is, I don't see Rozier getting any serious burn, but I don't see this roster staying the way it is.

Assuming the first 3 guys don't get hurt (which is a big assumption I don't think will happen) he'll be 4th guard at best. He'll be trying to beat out RJ Hunter for the 4th guard spot, but I think they will need RJ more.

He'll largely be in the Pressey role and do some time in Portland

He will make everyone forget about Rondo.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think he'll get at least some Pressey type minutes this season.
Stevens job- which Danny will reiterate to him, is to develop these young guys. The Amir Johnson's of the world are there to help build locker room work ethic whilst being valuable trade commodities (salary wise) in case the opportunity to trade for a star arises.

Given his defensive pressure and effort he'll definitely get minutes coming in as back up point guard. I'd put him as our 3rd point guard.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Not fast enough imo. He will get by in the beginning due to his physical tools and determination.

Huge pet peeve of mine is that you are leading a 3 on 1 fastbreak and cant get the easy bucket for your team. Rozier never passed once in this situation in the SL. It's not really smart basketball, unless the guy you want to get into foul trouble is Lebron

Has LeBron ever been in foul trouble? serious question.

He'll put up nice numbers in the D-League, just like Avery did in his rookie season.

PG minutes will primarily go to Smart and Thomas.

SG minutes to Bradley and Turner (yes, I know Turner will also play SF).

That doesn't leave much for Rozier, through no fault of his own.

There likely will be trades and injuries that could open things up but based on how things stand, he will do much more watching than playing this season.  I voted for Pressey minutes.  I think he is much better than Pressey so that is not the point.
