Sidenote: I got to meet WCS and Mudiay here in NYC around the draft. Mudiay was one of the nicest draft prospects/NBA players I've ever met and WCS was kind of a d***. No idea who will be better, but I certainly hope it's Mudiay.

No. Mudiay has a shaky jump shot

He's more of a true, pass first PG. He can also use his physicality and athleticism to attack the hoop. The kid has great vision and a completely NBA-ready body, so he doesn't necessarily need to be a great shooter. I won't make any excuses for the quality of his jumper though, it's terrible.

Edit: Rondo was a top 3 PG in the league with an atrocious shot.

Yes, I think they will.  WCS was a questionable pick at #6.  Mudiay has the potential to be the best player in the draft, and I can easily see being a good/great NBA point guard with his skill set.

So does John Wall and he is a top point guard.

I can't say that I'm surprised.  I mean, the guy changed his middle name to 'trill,' ::).

I love the WCS and Cousins combo. I do think they needed a different PG not Rondo. I would have gotten CJ one year to back up Collison and just wait for Conley. Conley, McLemore, Rudy, WCS, Cousins are a very good starting five.
Explain to me the spacing of Rondo, Cousins and WCS.
I wrote, "they needed a different PG not Rondo".
Ah, yeah. You are correct! I agree.

WCS at #6 might have been the second biggest reach of the draft.

After Rozier at 16.

Called Mudiay potential steal of the draft before it went down. Hope he makes me look good / not idiotic. Has the potential to be a star.

I think WCS has a higher floor though Mudiay has the higher ceiling.

Mudiay didn't do anything in summer league really - shot poorly with a bad assist/turnover ratio

easy yes

mudiay shown so far in the summer league that he is in nba ready as well as having potential at both ends of the floor

kings passing on mudiay more had to do with the "keep cousins agenda"
as cousins wanted  WCS and rondo

I think Mudiay will be a better pro because he seems like a good kid who will work really hard, but I don't think it'll haunt Sacramento.

PG is by far the deepest position in the NBA. A somewhat like replacement for a guy like Mudiay is typically available at the deadline every year (Dragic, Knight, Jackson). Meanwhile guys like Mozgov are going for a kings ransom because there just aren't a whole lot of 7 foot tall people on earth and WCS has the defensive potential to be a monster guarding pretty much out to the 3 pt line.

I'm not sure if they will.  WCS will most likely contribute faster than Mudiay to keep Boogie happy and he's far less likely to be a bust.  Philly will regret it far more than Sac.

I think Rondo on his make-good deal will bounce back to being the Rondo that many here enjoyed watching in Green (not all -- can't please everyone) and will help that team a lot.  I think he'll help Mclemore look a lot better than he really is and Gay will score like he did in Memphis
Why will Philly regret it?  Okafor appears headed to a higher ceiling and is at a much tougher position to fill.  Just because Philly has Noel and maybe Embiid, doesn't mean they should pass on the better player for a guy at a position of need.  Much easier to find a great PG than a great center and that is the way it will always be.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Another terrible decision by a terrible franchise. The fit with Cousins and Rondo is poor, as Cousins needs space to be his dominant self. WCS is a great prospect, and the pick wasn't as egregious as NY taking Porzingis #4, though.
