As of right now, this is who I can think of out of the guys who never made an all star team -

Starters

Center - James Buddha ;D Edwards (he was murder with that McHale-like unblockable fadeaway.  Subpar rebounder, shotblocker, and just a bad passer, though, iirc)
Power Forward - Roy Hinson (should have been a Celtic.  He would have made a big difference in the 80s, imo)
Small Forward - Eddie Johnson (another guy who should have been a Celtic.  We had the 23rd, 25th, and 31st picks in 81, and came out of it with Charles Bradley *facepalm*, Tracy Jackson *facepalm*, and Ainge, when we could have come away with Jay Vincent, Eddie Johnson, and Danny AFTER WINNING THE TITLE.  Ugh.)
Shooting Guard - Byron Scott (enough said)
Point Guard - Jerry Sichting

Reserves -

Michael Cooper (enough said), Mitchell Wiggins (yes, he did coke :'(, but I think that might have only happened after he played with John Lucas in Houston for about half of a year.  Lucas had that kind of impact, unfortunately.  At least he helps people now.  Anyway, Wiggins could have also been a Celtic in that 83 draft, but they took Kite. :o Wow.  Yes, I know that Doc Rivers was also available, but he made an all star team, so that disqualifies him, here), Mike Glenn (even better than Sichting as a shooter, and that's saying a lot), Vinnie Johnson (enough said), Boris Diaw (enough said), Junior Bridgeman (enough said), Mark West, Mario Elie (drafted in the 7th round by the Bucks in 1985.  He would have been great on those Bird teams off the bench), Jerome Kersey, and Henry Sims.

Deng, I need more room ;D

I think the general rule here is if the guy was on an all star team he can't be on this team. It's your favorite guys, not best.

F Eric Williams
C Eric Montross
F Kurt Rhambis
G Avery Bradley
G Sherman Douglas

bench
Dino Radja
Darius Songalia
Jay Williams
Mike Bibby
Jason Williams

I think that team would compete for an 8 seed

Dude, you're putting the sewer rat on your team on a celtics forum?  Ahaha ;D.
Two houses alike in dignity in the fair NBA we lay our scene, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.

I feel like I should be able to take a TP away from you just because you quoted Romeo and Juliet, lol ;D. Besides, the Lakers certainly have no dignity and the NBA is hardly fair ;) ;D.

By the same token there are some mediocre players that I never liked.

Never liked Mike Dunleavy. I just wasn't that into him.

Rick Mahorn

Bill Lambeier.

players that are always hurt

Donyell Marshall

players that were always crying about stuff being unfair like Jalen Rose or Juwan Howard

players that weren't mentally strong like Frank Brickowski...Dennis Rodman just needed to look at him and smile or maybe ask him what color his purse was and he was out of his game in two seconds.

Players that were paid way too much like maybe Travis Knight or Vitaly Potapenko

Players that were boring....Derek Fisher.  I totally respect him. He would have been a great Celtic. But just could never get into him

I can't believe that Laimbeer belly made 4 all star team :o. As for the other guys you've mentioned, are we talking about Dunleavy sr. or jr.?  Frank Brickowski was actually pretty good, and Rodman got to a lot of people, anyway, as you know.  Fisher was as dirty as they come, imo.  I hated how he purposely tripped over screeners whenever he was successfully picked off, and that move where he'd reach in, only to hold his hand up like he was in elementary school, as if to say, "what?" ::), just like Laimbeer with his 'straight up' bullEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..

I also admired AC Green for his public stance on saving himself for marriage. This world needs more Tim Tebows and AC Greens.

How did AC Green ever make the 1990 All Star team, btw?  What a joke.
Wait......AC Green made an all star team?

What?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV1LzXf1TKQ

Not only that, he was voted a starter!

You got to remeber though, Soul Glo was at it's peak of popularity at the time.

Really though, don't think Green is that out of place considering the Lakers won 63 games that year.  Not that unreasonable to have 3 players on the team, and it's not l ike his 12.9/8.7 is that out of place even today when you have guys like Kyle Korver and Roy Hibbert making the team.  And don't forget, 1990.  Lakers and Celtics got 3 guys on the team just about every year at that time.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Lol, TP ;D. That was Bill Simmons' assessment, as well, iirc, in the book of basketball.  How did he ever make it and Michael Cooper and Byron Scott didn't? *facepalm*

Laimbeer was a punk. Nobody respects him.  Just a scrub in every way.

I was talking about Dunleavy Jr.

I dislike any team not the Celtics.  So I would pick the 2002 Celtics.

I can't believe that I forgot about Derek Harper, Sedale Threatt, Wesley Matthews, and Derek Smith (was on his way to stardom before he got hurt), and why hasn't anyone mentioned Ed Pinckney or the immortal Brad Lohaus (who I would have rather kept instead of trading for Joe freakin' Kleine and Eddie, to be honest.  Ugh), lol ;D?  I'm sure that I've forgotten other guys, too.  Give it time ;D. Does anyone think that Lamar Odom should be here?  I don't like the guy, but he was very talented.

He made it the usual way unqualified guys made it - Laker fans stuffed the ballot and voted him in as a starter.  Over guys like Karl Malone no less.

So, Horace Grant made an all star team, but Ron Harper and Toni Kukoc didn't?  Wow.

And then they lost in the first round.

I don't love Kukoc, but I kinda like him.

I loved it when he swished that buzzer beater in the playoffs when Pippen was on the bench crying and sulking.

Suddenly Pippen was replaceable player that nobody would ever look at the same way again.

You guys might also want to check this out.  It's an excerpt from Jeff Pearlman's, 'Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s.'

Quote
He was the Lakers' latest first-round pick, a 21-year-old power forward out of Oregon State whose drive and hustle made him, on paper, a perfect fit for a team that specialized in all-out effort. Having wasted his previous top selection on Earl Jones, Jerry West (not one to forgive himself ) was determined to make sure Los Angeles landed a contributor in the 23 spot. Leading up to June 18, 1985, most of the team's scouts and executives were pushing for Terry Porter, a 6-foot-3 guard out of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Porter had averaged 19.7 points and 5.2 rebounds as a senior, and Gene Tormohlen, the Lakers's top scout, insisted he was a potential star. "I just thought he had the chance to become excellent," said Tormohlen. "He would take the pressure off Earvin, sort of like Norman once did. But Jerry was sold on A.C., and when Jerry's sold on someone . . ."

West liked that Green played without an ego. When the Beavers needed him to score, he scored. When they needed him to rebound, he rebounded. There were hundreds of minutes of Oregon State game tapes inside the Forum offices, and not once did Green appear to mope, whine, or talk trash. He was a power forward in the most traditional of models—hammer the boards, block shots, charge ahead, work to the point of exhaustion. "He had no airs about him," said Roger Levasa, an Oregon State football player and close friend. "A.C. wasn't cocky or arrogant or someone who thought being athletic made him special. He just wanted to do well and do the right thing."

There was just one small problem: A. C. Green was a virgin.

By "problem," one means not to imply that avoiding premarital sex is somehow wrong. No, it's just that, on the Lakers, virginity wasn't mocked or ridiculed—it was impossible. From Johnson and Abdul-Jabbar to Michael Cooper and James Worthy, Los Angeles's players came to appreciate the special carnal perk of being a member of basketball's elite team. There was sex to be had, and more sex to be had. There were strip clubs to be visited, prostitutes to call, groupie fantasies to fulfill.

Virginity? Virginity was for priests.

Even before Green reported to the team, players shared among themselves his off-the-court scouting report.

Never curses.

Has the world's moistest Jheri curl.

Knows every page of the Bible by heart.

Has probably never kissed a girl (who wasn't a relative).

In particular, they laughed over an incident that took place his sophomore year at Oregon State, when Green entered the student bookstore and was aghast to see copies of Playboy being sold alongside Time and Sports Illustrated. When the manager refused his request to move the magazines elsewhere, Green led a protest, encouraging students to shop at the nearby Circle K. "Then I went to the Circle K, and they sold the same ****ography," he said. "So I protested them, too." Before long, Green and several other Oregon State students generated national attention, and he spoke openly about his decision to remain celibate until marriage. When the Beavers traveled to Arizona State, Green stepped to the free-throw line and was greeted by fans, situated behind the basket, waving posters of bikini-clad girls. "It was funny," Green said. "Really, that was as bad as it got."

Green didn't know the words to "Hail to Old OSU."

"Well," said Johnson, "give us 'Billie Jean.'"

"Billie what?" said Green.

"'Billie Jean' by Michael Jackson," Johnson replied with disbelief.

"I don't know that one either," Green said, his voice drowned out by cackles.

Johnson ran off a series of singers: Prince. Phil Collins. Aretha Franklin. James Brown. New Edition. Chicago.

Nothing.

"Look, rookie, you're singing," Johnson said. "You have no choice." "Well," said Green, "name a gospel song. . . ."

Silence.

More silence.

More silence.

Finally, James Worthy, the quietest Laker, piped up from the rear. "Sing 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot!' " he said.

"Uh . . ." said Green.

"Sing it!"

"Sing it!"

"So I did," said Green. "Not well, but well enough. That broke me through and gave me my first real connection with the team. Not that they went easy on me."

That book is a fun read.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
