The Lakers are a good place for Holmes. Their SF position is a disaster. Holmes has a good shot at earning some playing time there this year.

The tweet says "significant partial", so more than just a camp invite.  Also, even if it's not all that guaranteed, making a roster is important, and there is really little path to him making the roster here coming out of camp.  Going where he has the best chance makes sense.

You know, Danny really did not have to get Amir, Lee or Jerebko. 

Our team would of been just fine with KO, Sully, Zeller, Mickey and Holmes going into next season.   Cheaper also

Amir , Lee, Jerebko while good players are not going to take this team to the next level . These are the type of players you add for a championship run.

What makes you think Holmes wasn't offers a contract?  He's a free agent, and can go where he wants.  The Lakers only have 13 players with guaranteed deals on their roster, so forget just making a team, he has a chance to get minutes there.  It's a better place for him.  He would not have made the roster here, and certainly have not gotten much in the way of minutes if he did eke out a spot.

I liked him too, but the writing was on the wall the moment we traded for PJ3.

Yep, I can see him going for a "significant partial" a little bit. I wouldn't have seen him for a simple camp invite type of offer, so that at least makes some sense.

I wanted him for the Celtics, but oh well... Lakers suck.

Who really cares about Jonathan Holmes? He couldn't play on our team. He played well in summer league. Let's see how that translates to the NBA. He doesn't have a very high ceiling.

It will translate.   6'10 guy , 245 pounds, that can guard multiple positions, loves to bang downlow and can hit the 3 pt shot at a decent rate.   Knows where to be on the court, how to play

Holmes would of been a suitable replacement for Jerebko. Cheaper also
