Markieff Morris wants out of Phoenix?
59 mins ago - via Twitter
Burns and Gambo: According to @Gambo987’s sources, Markieff wants out. He wants nothing to do with the #Suns. Won’t talk to players or staff. #NBA

In particular, given the Ryan McDonough connection, can Danny make use of this movie?

Not suggesting we would want Morris - and he's on a long ( albeit affordable) 4 year contract, though he is a fine rotation player (15.8 career PER) and the better brother - but its seems to me that the more moving parts the easier it will be for Danny to find a move that makes sense.

Can the Celtics take advantage? Without a doubt - they've got the assets needed to trade for him (he's not exactly a superstar). Should they? In my opinion, unless Danny is planning a massive overhaul of the team, no. The Morris twins seem like the sort of players who can wreak havoc when they're one of the "leaders" of a young team, but who can theoretically be whipped into shape on a vet-laden team.

For a team like the Celtics, I don't really see much reason to think Kieff would suddenly turn over a new leaf when playing with a bunch of similarly unproven, inexperienced players as his current Suns teammates.

We're looking for " high character " guys.
I don't think this guy fits, special on a young team.

Isn't he more of a stretch 4 than small forward? I mean, I don't like that he's a .33% career three point shooter  and his recent problems with the law, but he definitely could be a nice pickup for cheap, which he would be since they almost have to trade him now. Also, he's on a very affordable Bradley-esque contract for awhile, too.

Actually, a Turner, Jones, and Minny pick for Morris could make a lot of sense for both sides if we think he can play the 3 full time. He'd be a definite upgrade for us, and that would give Phoenix that pick back along with a backup ball-handler in Turner and a free look at Jones. This depth chart looks really nice that way:
PG: Smart, IT
SG: Bradley, Hunter
SF: Morris, Crowder
PF: Lee, Sully/KO
C: Johnson, Zeller

I mean in the weak East, that team could potentially sneak into a 50-win season.

He's not an all-star caliber player. Not a high character player. He's also a PF, which we have a ton of. Unfortunately I don't see any use for the celtics other than maybe helping to facilitate a deal as a 3rd team and getting another 2nd rounder in return, and maybe trimming their roster to 15.

This is what caused me to post. I dont think we want Morris, nor do I think he is going to be easy to move, which may create space for the Cs to involve themselves...clear up the roster jam.

If that morris drama means Bledsoe also wants out then Danny will have to inquire about him.

Yeah, I don't think he's a good fit in Boston, but Danny, with all of his moveable assets, could wedge his way in the deal.

Maybe he could get some draft picks, I hear he's running low... ;D

He could be a good opportunity. He would be a swing here. What would Phoenix want? A draft pick? We got Isaiah for a late first round pick.

I think AB and DLee for Markeif and Bledsoe  will work moneywise (if we wait until Sept when Lee can be moved in   a multiple player trade). But I wouldnt want Markieff for four years, and while Bledsoe is the best player in that trade, I dont think it helps enough to be worth it - loss of flexibility for Danny...

Marcus Morris tweets brother Markieff Morris "won't be there for long" with Phoenix Suns

Phx will never make this trade. But Danny has a history with phx. Maybe we can get Len in the deal too and flip Morris to his bro in the process.
