the total accumulation of things he did, steals ,blocks,25ft three's,floaters, drawing fouls ,passing skills, creating off the dribble ,navigating the paint-all equate to nba-young can't do any of that stuff-have we got ourselves a 6-6 guard, a possible seth curry or prince
,remember his lane agilty test was elite--
court awareness looked elite, bbiq looked elite
range looked elite
length seemed elite

And he did all that without any discernible calves!

One area he is not unique in lateral foot speed.    I saw him adjust using his basketball IQ to anticipate but this may be a problem area for him, when he is guarding a guy with handles that can drive.

lateral quickness is a weekness but I think he is closer to average than bad in this area. Plus his lenght and smarts will help him in this area. Im not worried about him as a defender.

When it comes to RJ Im worried about 2 things. His shot and his strength.

Also, my favorite player comp for RJ is a skinny Paul Pierce.

I'm completely homer-ing right now, but I'm gonig to say it anyway: there's something about Hunter's form that reminds me of Steph Curry. That doesn't mean he's going to be as good of a shooter but they both have a release that looks, to me, almost like they're pushing the ball which makes it a more sustainable and reliable.

Again, I might just be talking myself into this guy, but he seems like, with some NBA seasoning, he could be a real assett a la Kyle Korver but with better passing skills.

If Hunter can make his way on the court this season I think he can have a nice role as a spot up shooter in limited minutes. Won't get too excited with summer league but at least he performed admirably.

there must be drills for this, forgot this kid has patience, doesn't have any urgency when under pressure-much like seth in that regard-rj is cool  customer for someone so young-summer league is summer league but he used his time well

What intrigues me is last year in the Sunbelt, Elfrid Peyton (a junior) at ULL was a lottery pick in the draft.  But guess who won conference player of the year?  Soph. RJ Hunter, and the coaches followed that up by voting him POY again this year.

RJ was projected anywhere from 10-25 in this year's draft and the Celtics are blessed that he fell to them at 28.  I think (unless he suffers a major injury) the kid's going to be a significant player in the NBA for 10-15 yrs.

I live in Lafayette, La, and I watched Hunter 2-3 times while he was in college when Georgia St played UL-Lafayette.   He torched us for 33 points one of these games.

in that game, we held him to 3 points in the first half and the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half.  he then proceeded to score 30 points in the last 15 minutes.  with 5 three pointers.   most of these were 2-3 feet behind the line.

he is a scoring and shooting machine

I have to say, what I saw of his team in college, and yes they beat my Baylor in the tournament, his teammates sucked.  So badly in fact Baylor didn't look like it took the game seriously.  I'd bet if he were on a good division I team he would have been a lottery pick.

pretty sure he only went to Georgia st. because his dad received the head coaching job there the year before he was a freshman.

he had other power 5 conference offers.....he knew he could play and wanted  to play for his pops so he could have the green light to shoot for all 40 minutes.

Hunter seems like a funny guy too.

at the 0:48 mark he does a good Delly impersonation.

The thing is, Golden State had nothing to lose by letting Steph Curry take all those Crazy Shots...Not too many teams would let any player jack up so many nutty 3 pointers....RJ has the same kind of mentality...Will Stevens let him do it--?
