Cliff Alexander and Phil Pressey are headed to #RipCity. Welcome, fellas!

Gary Washburn: Trail Blazers announce that have signed former #Celtics G Phil Pressey. Pressey gets a shot to be a backup to Damian Lillard.
Glad to see the guy stick around the NBA.

Yeah, good for him. I think he can be a difference maker as a third PG in spot minutes for a real contender but that's basically his ceiling. Seems like a great dude, though.

Very happy to see this news. I watch a fair amount of Blazers games to see Dame, so it'll be nice to catch glimpses of Phil every once in a while.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

seems like a hard working kid. The blazers have secretly had a really great offseason.

seems like a hard working kid. The blazers have secretly had a really great offseason.

Unfortunately, they not so secretly lost their all-NBA Forward as well as their severely underrated Center (as well as the starting SG and SF). It's not all doom and gloom, especially if Vonleh can show why he was one of last year's to prospects, but they are certainly a work in progress.

Super-psyched for Phil, though. Glad to see him in a situation where he may actually get some minutes.

I was making a joke in that they lost 5 of their top 6 players including their best player....

I'm so happy for Phil. He is a hard working kid who is actually fairly talented but never really was able to get a fair shake here in Boston. Hopefully he actually gets to show what he's got over on Portland.

The Blazers also have Tim Frazier who they are molding to be Lillard's backup.

Losing Aldridge, Batum, Matthews, Lopez, and Afflalo (5 of your top 6) and replacing them with Ed Davis, Mason Plumlee, Al-Farouq Aminu, Noah Vonleh, Moe Harkless, and Pressey is a great off-season?

I'll give them credit for getting some nice youngsters as they are clearly rebuilding but I would say the Blazers have had a pretty depressing off-season.

EDIT: Sorry didn't realize it was a joke. Darn internet.

Agree until the fair shake part. Better defensively than you'd expect given his size, but he could be posted. Good handler and playmaker, awful shooter.

I was and am rooting for him, but I think he definitely got a fair shot.
