the enigma of perry jones, questions about knees
then why did normally fussy okc draft him ,they have sent a player back with a toe problem
what is his problem with motor
was he just immature, skinny and non aggressive because of body type
where is perry now, shouldn't he be in waltham
will celts make forward moves thinking that they will take this kid on as project
will the celts have their drs look at his knees before training camp
23 is still very young for a big man and with his skill set
what has been reaction of his teamates and okc sportswriters
how would celts feel about the loss of one of our young players instead of waiving perry, these  big man kind of talents don't come around often

Lack of motor and no specific NBA-level skill. He needs to focus on one thing in particular that he excels at on the professional level. From the time I've watched him in OKC, his best bet would be to hone his defense, since he has some capability to be versatile in that area.

Lack of player development in OKC under Scott Brooks imo. They lost two promising young players in PJ3 and Lamb due to Brooks poor coaching and player development abilities.

when perry went to first summer league he had a 16pt game against celts and teamates said there was nothing wrong with his motor that was just a bad rumor
how could durant call him the best athlete in nba  and have a bad motor-does this apply to indifference, laziness ,
how did he carry himself in practice
-i wish ainge or brad would  release some info and plans or is this just a free look
now james is about to practice with durant-very intriguing

Ibaka, Sefolosha, Reggie, Steven Adams, Andre Roberson. For all the negative things you can say about Brooks, being bad at player development isn't one of them. PJ3 and Lamb sucked in OKC. They sucked for three years straight. They were terribly inconsistent and played as though they were asleep on the court. That's on them, not the coach.

Ibaka is the only one you can say developed under him. The others left and did much better after they left, or in Adams case they had so much faith in him that they traded for Kanter and signed him to a large deal to relegate Adams to the bench.

We will soon see when Lamb and PJ3 get their opportunity this season. Brooks was a downright awful coach in many respects. He cost OKC a title or two, and a number of good young players.

The red flag is a concern. We need to know more about that issue before thinking it could be a part of the rotation.

This article in 2012 isn't hopeful. There is no recent article saying that he get rid of his knee problem.

just found some recent articles about giving him a bigger role this coming year and his run of good games cut short by contusion ,being out for month and, durantcoming  back then being buried on bench therefore losing his rythm
,perry had an ankle injury and a contusion from a bang but nowhere is there any press on the kness bothering his practices or games but there are quotes of his about how much he is learning playing against durant westbrook in practice and how it is building his confidence
--this kid could throw a spanner in any fans attachement to other  celtic young players,
brad sounds like his type of coach and our offence with no stars is a perfect landing spot for perry -the celts just might have gotten REAL lucky but somone will have to go

Brad and Danny are not idiots. If Perry shows willingness to compete and play hard, they will keep him; his talent and upside is so difficult to find.  If not, he will be cut. It would not be fair to cut another player busting his gut for a guy who does not give 100%.

I trust they will do the right thing here.

This trade was a no brainer. An athletic 6' 11'' who can actually play the 3. That is Stevens dream "swing" player. I do not see how he does not make the team. C's have a free year to see if he can develop to his potential.

I loved the cheap signing / reclamation project of Evan Turner last summer. I think it generally panned out as he showed a but of value.

That said, if I had to pick, I'd trade/cut him if PJIII shows that he's healthy and ready to be a difference maker here.

it could have quite a knock on effect
but it might be just the thing ainge needs for brad to have in his arsenal-

Nonsense. Sefolosha, by far, had his best years in the NBA in OKC, Reggie Jackson gradually made his name in OKC, and the fact that the Thunder are apparently giving serious consideration to bringing Kanter off the bench - yes, with his new contract - flies in the face of whatever point you were making about Adams.

He cost them a single title; three straight years of season-ending injuries to their three best players cost them the others.

Brooks was not bad at developing players; it's one of his strengths and exactly why there was immediate interest from other teams when he was fired.
