in his first game scored 16 on celts with 8 rebounds and was being called steal of draft ,hit from outside drove to basket and had putbacks and at time led break and played d from perimeter to in the block-his atleticism was off the scale and there were comparisons to odum a double double machine-perry was considered a lottery pick as a freshman-went late in draft because his knees were flagged
in his next game at summer league sprained his ankle after scoring 8pts and 3 blocks-the next season withdrew for oral surgery-durant in may 2014 called him best athlete in nba-any player that can score 32 against the clippers deserves the brad stevens patience and positionless system

I'd like to be optimistic about Perry Jones, since I was one of the legions who wanted him instead of Fab Melo. But people keep mentioning his 32-point game against the Clips and his early three-game stretch as a starter with 20 against Denver and 16 against the Nets following the 32-point outburst, and they fail to mention that he actually started the first five games -- scoring three against Portland in the opener, four against the Raptors in game 5.

He started 10 games overall aside from that 32-20-16 stretch and scored double figures in just three of them (a high of 14) while going scoreless in three.

He has the tools, but something is missing.  It is not all about his knees either.

just read comprehensive article on him-a 6-11 power forward that doesn't want to bang-if he has to play basketball he wants to play perimeter and plays like he really doesn't like basketball  from facial expression too attitude-a very disturbing view of why-perry wasn't a number one lottery pick, which he could have been-

Thanks rollie. Do you have a link?

I'm pulling for the young man.

I liked the articles.

I hope you can somewhat reach his potential...he has so much, I'm not sure he could ever reach the hype.

Since he is predisposed to deferring, I wonder if he should be the point?

I'm optimisitc. His talent isn't even debateable. It's going to be a question of whether or not he can be motivated and put in positions to succeed and I'm very optimistic that if he has something to give, Brad will get it out of him. That, and NBA history is littered with stories of guys who flamed out on one time and became a valuable piece elsewhere.

I'll go so far as to say I expect him so start some games this season.
