This teams just so deep that theres so many potential starting combinations coach BS could go with. If you were him, what 5 guys would you put out there game 1 of the season?

Personally im a fan of..
PG- Isaiah Thomas
SG- Marcus Smart
SF- Jae Crowder
PF- Kelly Olynyk
C- Amir Johnson

I think thats our best lineup of defensive and offensive versatility that still leaves you with a lot of scoring punch in Sully, Turner, and Bradley coming off the bench. I still dont think Stevens will start IT though which may prove to be a mistake.

Smart / AB / Crowder / Lee / Johnson
is what I'd like to see, but
Smart / AB / Turner / Lee / Zeller
is what I expect to see
I'm bitter.

IT - Smart - Crowder - Lee - Johnson

Probably the best lineup we've got at the moment.

IT (Deserves to start, cmon Danny!)
Smart (IT bring the offense, Smart brings the defense)
Turner (Until we trade for a legit SF)
Lee
Johnson

Bench:
Rozier (Get the Kid minutes!!)
AB (Like him better off the bench)
Crowder (Again nice punch off the bench)
Sully (Can switch this with Lee if Sully does slim down)
Zeller (Love Zeller as a backup C)

But I wanna see Young, Hunter, Mickey, Kelly and Jones III play!!!!
Just gotta make a trade to free up some time.
Particularly excited to see Hunter play. Would like to see him be the backup SG before the end of the season

Pre-AS break: Johnson, KO, Crowder, Smart, IT.

Post-AS break: Johnson, KO, Crowder, Smart, TR.

Yes! I just now actually read your original post here, though I'd put the IT genie back in the bottle once TR is ready to team with Smart. I have Sully penciled in for another team, however--so Lee and Jerebko coming off the bench together.

People seem a lot more pro-Thomas starting now than last season. Is that because we need to split up Smart and Rozier and Rozier probably isn't a starter (yet)?

I've been on the Thomas should start from day 1 train, glad to see it is gaining more support.

As for the thead - Thomas, Smart, Turner, Sullinger, and then Zeller or Johnson depending on match-up.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

PG- IT
SG- AB
SF- PJ III
PF- Amir
C- Lee
I like the defensive potential of PJ III at the 3 and I think Lee and Amir are going to make a good pair  but C and PF are interchangeable in this lineup.

The starting five will almost without a doubt be Smart-Bradley-Turner-Sullinger-Johnson. The only real question is whether Crowder takes Turner's job, but I'd bet he comes off of the bench until such time as Turner is traded.

Interesting. For me I think PJIII is the worst player on this team. Also, I really expect Marcus to start. If Isaiah forces his way into the starting lineup, then I think AB will get the boot and we will see Marcus at the 2. I just dont see a world where a healthy marcus smart doesnt start for us.

FWIW
I think
Thomas
Smart
Crowder
Johnson
hot big (whoever is playing the best of Sully, Kelly, Lee, or Zeller)

is the best lineup.

Although I like the idea of starting Smart AB to establish some defensive early on. In a perfect world Jae has a mini-breakout year and Smart improves with his handle etc to the point where he is able to effectively run an offense. Then you can start a vicious defensive 1-2-3 with Smart AB Crowder.

Just for fun, would Thomas-Bradley-Turner-Lee-Olynyk be the worst plausible starting 5, defensively, in the entire NBA?
