he has  SUCH court awareness,he even plays defense using that awareness -he is going to be a good one-it almost like having a better point guard than rozier when both are on the court-unfortuneatly he used his left hand penetrating
into paint and someone JUST got a hand on it -he would have found an open man or drawn a foul-he blocked shots ,stole the ball ,rebounded and is just a threat to do something positive-

I won't over do it because "it's only summer league" but I bet my BB reputation on this board by anointing myself Founder/ Driver / Agent of the Hunter Bandwagon/ Fan Club !!!
The last rookie to get me this excited was Len Bias!

I love what he brings to the game.  He's smart on both ends of the court and creates for himself and his teammates.  He has great court vision and is a half a step ahead of everyone else.

What's nice about RJ, besides his shooting range, is his overall basketball knowledge. His feel for the game is real nice, good passer, good handle on the ball, he works on D, all of this will improve as he matures and fills out. He has nice size for a 2 guard, plus the long arms. You can tell his father/coach taught this kid the right way to play. His upside is going to be fun to watch develop. He seems like a real worker too.

IMO he's a future starter caliber player...or even more.

Hardwood Harry...I'm all aboard!

He's got that excitement factor where you find yourself begging him to take 40 footers.

That and the rest of the Celtics' offense is anemic.

This kid thinks he can make any shot. There will be some growing pains watching this but very exciting also. I love his confidence and I love the way he seeks to make excellent passes.

I'm on the Bandwagon also. When his shot isn't falling he still impacts the  game
in other ways to make a difference.

Yeah, I mean, I'm normally the kind of fan who pumps the breaks on getting too excited about a player.

But wow.  With RJ.  What is not to like?

He so clearly 'gets it' while on the floor.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I think what's great about Hunter is that he looks like he can be a fantastic role player.  I mean, he'll just fit within the team concept, and might score 10-12 efficient points on any given night, and provide some heady play.  I don't want to speak for the whole board, but I doubt we are all saying he'll be a franchise player, but he looks to be a key ingredient of a winning team.  He'll really help space the floor and open things up for others as his shot has to be respected.  I love him in that light.

Sees the plays develop and is ready to react .

Sees the court though a coaches eyes .....pays attention to the whole game ......and makes a difference in a lineup

Great draft by Ainge first of all for the bloggers that constantly knock him.  Hunter isn't Larry bird who is going to start and transform the league.  But he seems to have a good complete game with an obviously great shot.  Top side I see I guy who could improve his game ala k Leonard or butler.  Low side he is a guy who will garner minutes this year and if he improves He will be a key ingredient to future teams

I see a bit of Tayshaun Prince in his game when he handles the ball or brings it up from the backcourt.

There are only a few players in the NBA who fans scan the court for on a fast break and collectively hold their breath when is about to get the ball for three.

I think Hunter is that kind of player. He is an exciting player to watch because of the style and the feel that he has for the game and his teammates.
