If it was indeed 6 picks Ainge was offering for Winslow that was too much. Instead Ainge drafted some nice young players that I want to see develop. That was fun  ;D

We need shooters anyways. Whether  Winslow could have been our sg/sf of the future who knows.  Rozier, Hunter and Mickey are awesome though.

Indeed! Now, if some of these young players (Mickey, Holmes, Young ) impress enough to be packaged with a few #1's and pry Cousins away from Karl and the Kings......
....I was in Seattle when Karl and Kemp went at it and Karl said his dream team would be 5 starters between 6-6 and 6-8...

Roughly 15-20 teams will deeply regret passing on RJ.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Hunter is looking more like a new age Ginobli every day.

Yeah RJ is going to be a good player in the league. GS was licking their lips hoping he was going to fall to them.

Looking at the way the draft played out I cannot figure out how he fell. Someone with his skill set is in high demand in today's NBA.

I see Bird like qualities in the way he sees the game and attacks the rim on close outs. I see Reggie Miller in his awkward stroke and movement without the ball. His hustle over screens and the ability to alter shots and disrupt passing lanes reminds me of the late great Reggie Lewis....If he can be half as good as those 3, we have a steal!!!

amazing, but it happens. pierce at 10? rondo at 20? this is why sometimes mid to late picks can still bring value. it is far, far more of a crap shoot later in the draft, but sometimes it happens.

of course, so does melo too.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

if Hunter & Rozier prove to be quality pros then great, great for them, great for Ainge. but the likelihood of us getting 2 All-anything's in the late 1st rnd. is highly unlikely. the truth is these guys will probably be like the rest of the players on this team - a team of nice players but none are supreme talents.

I'd rather be waiting on lottery players to develop than late rnd. picks. I'd rather see lottery players used as trade assets than late rnd. picks. the value is higher.

when it's all said and done, if this team finds itself in the playoffs they'll lose to a team with more talent.

Why? Becaus of where they were picked?  Yo be trollin'.  Look at your history and you'll see that draft position many times has little to do with your nba talent level.

True.

I have a feeling that Danny's words during the draft...something along the lines of "other teams regretting not making deals with us"....will come to fruition.

Look at DAL...we own their pick...protected, I think? But I'm not counting on the recently acquired DWill to give them much...I like him, but he hasn't put together anything resembling a full season in a while now. Plus, DJordan's about face will be more demoralizing to their team than they are willing to admit.

For BKN, I'm not counting on them to improve much, as well....they could win 45-50 games, but could ALSO miss the playoffs...there is too much riding on JJ and Brooke staying healthy.

Danny tried, but I'm glad that his deals couldn't get done...we still have too many picks for SOMETHING to not pan out.

And, oddly enough - I believe we have improved with what we have, now.

Just gotta be patient and hold his hand. Danny's a gambler, and soon enough he'll hit.
