the three was off but he brings much more to game
the attention he demands running routes ,penetration of dribble and ability to make  bird like passes,
he commands the ball allmost like a point guard, even his goaltend was slick  those long arms just extending-i think we got a prince not a frog-he draws fouls when his shot not going, and his court awareness is a joy to watch

I like Young/Hunter as our starting/back up SGs.

People aren't high on Young, but I feel like once Young and Hunter really do reach their ceiling, we'll get a first and 2nd unit of our own splash brothers.

Now we just need either Smart or IT to be consistent 3pt shooters, and boom.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

I am very impressed with how evolved Hunter's mental game and basketball instincts are.  He seems to anticipate where he should be going about a half second before anyone else does, and in general, just seems to anticipate what the correct next step is before it actually transpires.  He looks like he is mentally ahead of every player on the court in SL.

We're probably in for a reality check when his skinny rookie body is put to the test against real NBA players, and his shot selection really needs to be worked on, but I am VERY encouraged by the fact that he sees the game like top players should.

i thought young had another bad night,i think because rj sees the seams and even without speed is able to navigate and has options planned ahead of time ,he seems extremely confident navigating in the paint-they used to call bird a genius for his court sense
-i think rj has some of this-he may get better at next level offensively when surrounded by better players and more defined roles, there were times last night like he was an extra point guard-i used to be in awe of bird slowish, realatively unathletic and made everbody better--rj is going to have some serious fun watching isiah torture the bigs

I thought RJ's passes were outstanding. Although his shot was off he brought other aspects to the game that made him important to the team effort. Now Young actually looked terrible again. His shot was off - he was falling down like a girl and just played WEAK. I hope another year in Maine will help him.

Exactly what I was thinking. I know it's just Summer League, but honestly, he hasn't even shot well and he still looks like the future starting shooting guard. Certainly can't play defense like Avery Bradley, but he's not bad there and he's got attributes on offense that AB has never had -- height, passing skills, anticipation, and the ability to get to the foul line.

Now if we could just get an explanation why Royce O'Neale is taking minutes away from Hunter (and Young) in Summer League ...

Tayshaun or the musician?

Hunter is already the best ball handler on the team. Which is both awesome and sad at the same time.

Hunter is a better or at least equal off the ball defender than Bradley I think. Hunter's length is a huge asset there. Bradley is obviously the better on ball defender, though.

So dump the younger player because the older one is better. Why not keep both? Lets see how both develop.

It's freaking summer league.. None of this means Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.. None of it.

If you watched Hunter play you would think differently. He isn't some Summer League big that is shooting 80% on 2-footers. Hunter has shown passing, shooting, defense, heads up plays and overall an incredible feel for the game of basketball.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Hunter has certainly impressed me. He has played the passing lanes well, done great driving coming off screens and passing the ball.

My issue is that a lot of the shots he takes are extremely difficult. When he is running off a screen he needs to pause to get his feet set before he shoots otherwise he won't shoot a high percentage. Although, if he gets minutes early in his NBA career his offense will almost exclusively come from spot ups.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

His basketball IQ is impressive, you can see it how he gets in lane of passes on D, is the near the ball on rebounds, and his passing.

I noticed when he misses his feet are not lined up a lot or he twists them.
