Now this is more of a mid-season trade, let's just assume that the Kings stay the Kings and do horribly and want a quick rebuild package.

Something like:

Amir Johnson, Jae Crowder, Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, Rozier, James Young, 3 or 4 1st round picks

for

Demarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay

Boston Lineup:

Marcus Smart
Avery Bradley
Rudy Gay
David Lee
Demarcus Cousins

Now this is pretty unrealistic right now. But when Sacramento goes into firesale mode, which is a guarantee and not a if, we will be the most ready team in the league to be able to pounce. Someone like Philly does not value Demarcus as much since they have 3 elite big men prospects already.

I've always wanted to see Rudy Gay in a Celtics uniform..even though advanced stats do not support that he is an elite player, for some reason I feel like he would do really well for the Celtics.

Now this is probably unrealistic a little bit, but I really really think one or the other will eventually land in Boston...I'm just thinking...why not both? Another question is..is it worth it to go "all-in" for Cousins and Gay?

I think cousins is the only one Danny wants at sacramento.
Most likely Lee will be the centerpiece of the package once Brad salvage his oncourt value.

SAC hangs up, besides we can't trade Amir for a little bit.

I can see all that closer for Cousins and Rondo but not for Cousins and Rudy. If things are imploding Rondo and Cousins for 4 first, AJ, Rozier, AB, Crowder, Young, Mickey, Sully is plenty. Though I'm not liking the Rondo return.

A pool of pee remains in a large puddle on the floor underneath the conference room table,
where the Vlade Divac, George Karl, and the owner of Sacramento Kings laugh themselves silly over this trade proposal.
Rajon Rondo cries :'( hysterically laughing with Rudy Gay as they finish their morning breakfast, playing connect four. ;D

Repeat after me.  The Kings AREN'T trading Cousins at this time.  Maybe later in the year or next year but not now.

They brought in his good friend Rondo, drafted a Center in WCS and added a Center in FA in Koufos so he wouldn't have to play C (at his request) and also added a shooter in Belinelli per his request.    Does this sound like someone they are trading?

Cousins is going nowhere.  have to say I don't think that would be enough for Sac either.

The opposite direction the Kings are going

They are win now, hence betting on themselves against the Sixers draft wise

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Not as far fetched as people are saying. You said it would be later in the year and included up to four 1sts. I do think that if we are going to acquire Cousins, we need to be ready to say good-bye to Smart.

Also, if things do implode, I believe Sac would be happy to get rid of Gay and he wouldn't cost too much extra.

But, it is important to note that things really need to unravel for Sac for any thoughts of this to happen.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
It's actually a pretty realistic proposal. TP.
I don't think Sacto will trade Cousins at all and they'll dump Karl way before moving Cousins. But if they did, they'd probably want to dump Gay too.

I think this is the kind of Haul they'd want if they were to accept anything that doesn't include Smart. I'd rather give them Bradley than Crowder but the picks you've thrown in are exactly what they'd ask for.

I think they'd want 2 Brooklyn picks+Dallas picks+ Olynyk+Bradley+ Young+Hunter or something similar.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

So you're basically proposing that we keep arguably our three best players (Smart, Bradley and Lee), trade off three role players and two unproven prospects...and get back two All-Star calibre players in return?

Wow.

Also you do realise that Sacramento just signed Rondo, right?  They aren't looking for future assets, they want to win now.  I'm about 97% confident that neither Demarcus nor Rudy are going anywhere.
