I believe it is time for the celtics to move on from some players...
i do not believe that sully olynyc zeller turner and bradley are bad players. But they would be great being around some stars..they will never be stars themselves.. trade them...
the only way i see us getting star power is through draft.. trade them for picks...
smart thomas crowder lee jj and  johnson are  a base to build around.... rozier hunter mickey young holmes should be a fine bench... with enough playing time
not a play off team probably because of lack of experience but more chances to get a star... without tanking

So rather than tanking, we should trade our good players for picks and build through the draft?

Sounds an awful lot like tanking to me
I'm bitter.

Nah,  Adam Silver would consider this rebuilding.

This team needs to make at least 1 consolidation trade and then role with what it has. The turmoil in Dallas and Brooklyn will give the Cs enough of a chance to get in the lottery. Winning this year will improve the value of this teams players and the terms perception around the league.

Lets say the Cs pull off a trade where Sully and Turner land a competent starting SF. For the sake of this argument lets stick with the rumor and say its Gallinari.

This seasons rotation would likly be...

Smart, AB, Gallinari, Lee, and Johnson Starting with Thomas, Crowder, KO and Zeller getting heavy bench minutes. Using the bench to limit the minutes of the starting front court should hopefully keep them fresh and healthy. This would give the Cs a deep balanced team that should be able to earn a playoff spot and make some noise in the post season. With the girth of expiring contracts the Cs have they will them have Cap flexibility to try to bring FA's into a winning environment.

The good part is infinitely debatable.  Average is what I would call some of those players, a few are good in an area and bad in another.   Bradley is the most complete player on that list.   I think he is above average overall at best but not good except his defense.

We have a nice mix of youth and veterans. We should go out and compete, hope the youngins get hot at the right time (playoffs), add in a splash of luck and go on a run! Oh baby!

You basically just listed our entire roster. Are you advocating trading Bradley, Sullinger, Olynyk and Turner? That's a very original thought. What are we going to get for them? Four second rounders? Maybe a 1st rounder for Bradley from a team that is going deep in the playoffs anyway?

How has sucking for a long time worked out for Philly, Cleveland, Orlando, Charlotte and Detroit? Cleveland's best decision was being the city that LeBron is from, otherwise they would still suck.

Milwaukee, Minnesota and New Orleans might be the only recent teams to successfully pull out of a rut with consistently high draft picks. It still remains to be seen though.

You're playing a game of percentages that have a wild standard deviation regardless of where you pick in the draft. The good thing about winning is at least you might able to attract a good Free Agent who sees themself taking your team to contender status. We're a lot closer to benefitting from that than we are to tanking right now.

this team is custom built for Marcus Smart to take the league by storm.

forgot this notion of playing fragile ego's in order to develop them.  that's not what Brad does.  we compete against each other, and to the best players go the mpg.

Smart / Thomas / Rozier
Bradley
Crowder / PJ3
Johnson / Jerebko
Lee / Sully / Zeller

That's all there's room for folks, and to be perfectly honest, I really like the make up of this rotation.  Especially in the East.

I assume Marcus will absorb all the extra SG minutes behind AB, and we'll see Rozier in the Phil Pressey role.  Olynyk is the odd man out, IMO.  Either by trade or talent, I don't see him in the rotation.  I do expect Jerebko, Crowder & Jones to round out several different small-ball looks & Lee to play a lot of center.

Depending on what we can get for KO or Sully, could very well be a 50 win team.

Looks about right but you're missing Evan Turner at SF/SG. I would also add RJ Hunter to the SG rotation. Summer league or not, he looks like an NBA player (shooting, passing and rebounding).
