Just remember...Harden was also 23 when he was dealt for financial purposes...deja vu all over again??

Jones is hardly Harden, they will take a look at him, see if Stevens can make it work if not he is tall and athletic.  Things we sorely lack.   Jones has like a 38" max vertical.   At best I see him as a taller Gerald Green, sadly he will take that long to develop it seems.

Danny Ainge does it again, now no one can complain about him picking Fab Melo in 2012 before PJII! LOL

Is Jones a terrible defender?  Looking at his game log, it seems like he's pretty productive when he gets playing time but then he'll go long stretches where he barely plays.  Is it just because he gives it back and then some on the other end?

Just heard about this...again we're using our cap space and ability to sequence our acquisitions to add to our asset pool, though it's debatable whether PJIII or the 2nd is the superior asset here.

All of this is designed to give us as many angles as possible to eventually consolidate into pieces of an actual contending roster.  That consolidating move/moves has yet to happen, but it's coming.

I know it's frustrating that those big moves haven't happened yet despite a year of teases - I'm with everybody there - but I have a hard time figuring out how anyone could have a problem with this move in and of itself.  It's even more of a "something for nothing" deal than the Lee trade.

It's a fine trade even if all they get out of it is a 2nd rounder and cash.

Yep, wanted this guy in place of Melo. Funny, that we had to pay to get rid of Melo, and now we're paid to take on PJ3.

His defensive versatility is pretty much his only NBA-quality skill at this point... though I suppose you could count his athleticism, too. He's flashed some offensive capability (see: the 32-point game I referenced earlier), but he's woefully inconsistent on that end and should never be relied upon to score for a team that is actually trying to win games.

I am not saying, he is a terrible defender but one would assume a guy his size, 6'11", with a 7'2" reach and a 39" max vertical would block more than .2 BPG.

That being said, Durant once said he was the best athlete in the league.

His some video of him getting up, not that means anything other than he can dunk well.

Show signs of potential there, but so far no one has been able to get it out of him.  CBS has his work cut out for him on this one.

Oh, and as for why Jones didn't play much: complete and utter lack of internal motor and drive. The dude just doesn't get after it. I know that in the age of advanced stats and longform basketball analysis, it's somewhat taboo to decry a player for lacking something that's best described as an intangible, but it's entirely accurate and appropriate here.

Ainge is leading the league in steals this off season.

This has been highly entertaining watching the moves the Celtics are making.

The Celtics are loaded for bear!

Nobody told me there would be days like these - Ainge days indeed!

Most peculiar.

The Celts now have three guys taken in that general range in the draft -- Zeller, PJ3, and Crowder.

Turns out the end of the 1st and early 2nd in that draft was pretty well stocked with rotation players, plus Draymond Green who is a borderline star.

Fab was a major whiff by Danny.

Would you get after it knowing you'll probaly spend the rest of your career playing behind some guy named Kevin durant?
