I'm unclear on why the Celts acquired a guy who will just spend the year on the bench or in the D-League.  We've got guys like that already.

we needed another swing player and he fits the bill.
had he not been stuck behind the great Kevin Durant, he'd probably have played more.  he's certainly better than anyone we just drafted.  I expect he'll challenge Crowder for the starting SF role.

Meh, this is a nothing move.  More of a luxury tax move for the Thunder than anything else.  Wouldn't surprise me if he's cut or used as a throw-in for another deal by summers end

How are his knees or hips??

I know that was reason why he really dropped

Danny now has to make a move and get rid of a few bodies

Jones fits the "swing" type of player that CBS was wanting. He is a basketball player who has no position in the NBA. He saw extended minutes at center a year ago, and he has also played shooting guard next to Westbrook, Durant, Ibaka, and Adams.

I think CBS is a great coach for positionless players. I think his IQ is not that high, and he plays very inconsistently, but you can't teach his length, hops, and agility. Playing with Smart, Lee, and Crowder can only improve his work ethic. Love this deal.

any word on which second rounder is coming in the deal?  we have so many next year and have had difficulty using what we have in trades that I think we've reached the point where getting one is rather pointless.

as it stands I think this entire acquisition is rather pointless, but lets see if there is more to come.

I don't think this is a nothing move. I think Jones has a low chance of working out for us, but better than a lot of the guys on our roster right now. I think we basically risked nothing and might end up with a really good forward.

Hopefully a pretty cursor  to the Lee trade.

A pretty cursor? I don't think he is that pretty.

He probably is a curser, at least, and he's not really ugly...

This is the same as us drafting a SF late in the first round. He is already ahead of James Young on the depth chart, so am I.

Per this author, he graded out at D...glad that it wasn't an F.

Maybe Brad Stevens can get him going?

Wait, they traded us a second round pick and cash in addition to him?  What did we trade their way?

Did they give us those sweeteners just for taking on his contract?
