after watching all the summer games,i have focused on marcus, rozier and young, then mickey in vegas and then really paid attention to rj offense and even more so his defence.
unfortunately i missed watching holmes at either end ,as he put in strong but silent games-so i need some help
-is he the type of player that just doesn't get attention but puts in the numbers, sometimes i think these forward centers got away from gym work in college and a guy like holmes could transform himself in a couple of months, that includes mickey-
rozier didn't get the way he is without drills and gymwork,i saw a workout video and it was intense from weights and core work to agility and lateral-
i quess there will be a time that good isn't good enough-it will be what special do you bring

Holmes is good.  Seems to have a good bball iq, physical, and can shoot from deep.

Has some good potential.

Holmes is a quiet contributor, but the things I've picked up on so far are that he has a very smooth 3 point stroke, and moves around the court well for a big guy.

As far as having a place, I view him as Sully insurance. My guess is Holmes is invited to camp, and if Sully still looks like a walking ball of bread dough I could see him being jettisoned for a 2nd or outright cut. Alternatively, I'd say there is a reasonable possibility of a roster thinning trade between now and the end of camp, so that could also make room for him.

If the current 15 make it through camp looking pretty good together though, Holmes might be the odd man out.

Looks like people knew about him in High School, sorry.

Holmes came to Texas as the No. 62 overall high school prospect in the ESPN 100 rankings in 2011,

Four seasons, 127 games and 1,166 points later, the memorable career Holmes put together as a Longhorn has finally drawn to a close.

I think we will keep NBA proven players over him.   That being said I like his game, he is a better three point shooter and defender than Sully.   But Sully is the better player and a vastly better rebounder and is NBA proven.   I hope we D league him.

Holmes may exhibit better behavior than Sully - on and off the court.

If so, Holmes stays.

That would be fine by me, I am not a fan of loafing players who do not play D and play to their strengths, which is Sully in a nutshell.

Why are we comparing Holmes and Sully? I see them as two very different players.

He's not that good. It's Summer League.

All the draft sites had Rozier,Hunter,Holmes and Mickey projected mid/late R1 or early R2. I believe that ,after watching all the SL games,we should sign him and add him to our list of contestants to get a roster spot. We have nothing to lose. If he was 2 years younger he might have been a lottery pick. Nobody on this team is a lineup lock. Let them all compete an then decide .

Kevin O'Connor just wrote another piece on Holmes.

Is it possible to exchange Sullinger and Young (and maybe another player for draft picks) for Jones and Holmes?

Who thinks we would be better off if the Celtics did this?

He's not as good as Jerebko. Would be our seventh best big. Not worth making room for.

Am I completely off my rocker here (even more so than usual, btw ;D), or does anyone else think that Holmes is a kind of Patrick Patterson type player?

I was surprised how well he shot, BEATLA.   I like him a lot in summer league but at the end of the day it was only summer league.
