What is a 6th rounder? There are only 2 rounds.

Id assume he meant youd be getting a useless 2nd rounder (50-60 range) as opposed to one that could turn into a top 40 pick

Good point. I've been high on Holmes for a few games now, so that's generally the only reason I'd give up on Young at this point.

He's worth about as much as all of those other wings that went in the second half of the 2014 draft. From the 2015 draft, I'd guess he's worth anyone from around pick 20 down. As for future picks, maybe something in the late 20s.

It doesn't make much sense to me to trade him for any of those things.

There are some other young teams who can't shoot (um, like us...). Orlando and Toronto come to mind. I could imagine a kinda-lame role player or similar young maybe-player coming back in a trade with one of those teams.

That's the thing, Holmes no question. He's 240 pounds bangs people underneath the boards, runs very well, shoots with range, can take you off the dribbles. Versatile defender, what's not to like.

 Young is Always On the ground! It's so pathetic, I don't think I can remember a player that gets knocked to the floor so easily and often. He's Young but Mr Myiagi said first you must learn balance!

at best, his trade value right now is about what Gerald Green's was when we traded him - a young prospect that hasn't developed yet. 

I'd hold on to him unless someone gives us a great offer for him.  I wouldn't dump him just to sign Holmes.  Holmes wouldn't get off the bench on this team or out of the D-league for that matter

Right now it's 'throw in' as in, if I'm another GM trying to make a deal for Bradley or KO, right before its finalized I ask Danny to throw in Young so I can possibly get a little added return.

They shouldn't trade him now after how badly he played in summer league.  His value right now is about a bag of chips (not even Cape Cod chips, Lays).  Sure, it's better than nothing, but I'd rather give him a bit more time to develop.  That way, he'll either improve and gain significant value, or he won't and we cut him loose and get nothing.  To me that beats cashing out now for a crappy second rounder.

This kid is obviously struggling with his confidence. The difference in how Hunter handled his early struggles to Young's is night and day. Some kids never bounce back....... trade value now is only decent because of his age. Keep him in on the DL one more yr if we can and see if his stock can rise.
