Can we even get a second rounder for him at this point. He was chosen 17 overall. You would figure that's not too much to ask.
You think Philly would take a flyer on him. I really want to make room for Holmes and it feels like Young is still a long way away.

If we traded him now we would be selling low. He hasn't looked great so far but he is still the youngest player on the team by about a year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd hold on to him 'til he's like 21 or something. He's 19 currently.
He's on a rookie contract, nothing to lose if we let that play out.

We should hold on to him because his trade value is zero at this point. Maybe he can figure it out in the next year or two.

we should have room, in the lee trade we can let go of 3 players and take back one.

Very low.

trading him now seems pretty foolish.

As long as Evan Turner is still our starting Swing I'm not giving up on James Young!

Agreed. Though if he interfered with roster space, such as our ability to sign Holmes, I would prefer to cut him (sounds crazy, don't like it, but true). Hopefully that won't be the case.

I suppose he could be sweetener is a larger trade, too. Otherwise, I'm guessing a late 6th rounder, NFL style, at best.

What is a 6th rounder? There are only 2 rounds.

Id assume he meant youd be getting a useless 2nd rounder (50-60 range) as opposed to one that could turn into a top 40 pick

However, I must say, I would be very dissapointed in the Celtics if they gave up on young.

Just a joke, hence NFL-style :P

Don't mean to be so hard on him, would like to keep grooming him. I really agree with your premise that it just doesn't make sense to cut him now.

Very low.

More than Brian Scalabrine but less than Delonte West

He ain't going anywhere till he starts hitting shots.

I think the question should be, if you have to choose between Holmes and Young, who would you pick?

As I said a few days ago, it's probably roughly equivalent to Reggie Bullock, so he's probably worth a second rounder or useful as salary filler.
