Makes more sense than Sully ......capt of the breakfast club

Smart , Lee or Amir .....one day Crowder fits the stereotype ....all in team vocal glue guy.

IT too laid back .

Its mean but first thing I thought, "aw thats cute"

Bradley is destined to be a super bench player relied upon for defensive energy. Thats not a knock either. On a chMpionship team hed be a NBA fans household name. As soon as he is on a team that doesnt neeed his offense, his defensive ability will be useful and hell shine. Might not be on the Cektics next championship team though.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He can be captain of whoever we trade him to.

Smart is the captain of this team. Period.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Nobody should be Captain, nobody deserves it yet. Being a captain of the Celtics is an honor and nobody on this team has earned the right at this point.
Its also not wise to name a captain if everyone is tradeable. Imagine naming AB the captain then trading him away a month later.
Either way let the captain designation figure itself out, its not earned by team senority.

His Offense is getting better every year. He is still young to go the next level. DeMare Carroll is a prime example of a d that found his three. I beleve AB will too. He was the no. 2 recruit out of High School in the country and he works hard and he is playing with his friend IT.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

I would say he has a good chance of being named Captain.

This is super minor, but notice Bradley pays homage to Rondo and KG by saying "I learned a lot from [Rajon] Rondo, KG [Kevin Garnett], and those guys. I learned to be a professional on and off the court."

First, if you're learning how to be a professional by following Rondo's lead, I'm afraid you're probably learning the wrong lessons. But where's the love for Pierce--you know, the guy who actually served as captain during the Big Three era?  I suppose he's implicitly  referenced when Bradley says "those guys" but...

Captain Needa, maybe.
I got a good laugh out of this. I'd throw in Captain Terrell too.

Rather not give captain to a guy who'll probably be gone sometime in the next year.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Goodness, no. The captainship needs to be earned, and no one on this team is even close to that point. Lee seems like a good teammate and leader, but he hasn't shown anything yet in Boston.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

If being captain was some sort of badge you get for being on the team the longest, Bradley should own that title. But it isn't that simple, being captain means you lead by example and are able to lead the team to victory. Avery Bradley simply does not have those characteristics, I would sooner make Crowder the captain than Bradley for these reasons. But the person who I think should REALLY be the captain is Marcus Smart. The gritty work harder than everyone else in the gym to get to the next level type guy who does lead by example.

I really like Bradley, but this is something that will go right to his head. Better keep him where he's at.

This is actually a pretty good idea.

Avery Bradley for the role of Captain Hook in the next Peter Pan movie.

Genius.
