Sorry, but I just don't get it.

Easy to see. Very nice game already at 21 years of age, and can immediately defend. When you can attack the paint and get anywhere you want with that speed and athleticism, you'll be able to get off any shot you'd like in this league.

Just takes time. Keep the development going.

I'm more shocked if it can't been seen.  You find a way to get this man minutes or as a team you're doing yourself a disservice.

hope they don't trade avery his shooting and defense better than rozier-rozier is nowhere near ready to be a nba point guard,frazier was the red claws most valuable player and he showed what experience means-
why the heck should players sit and travel for a few minutes here or there they should play in d leagiue and sit the bench on home games and practice with  the celts-
these guys now know what they have to do,stay in boston and train and hit weight room in waltham,take advantage of every minute of coaching till celts pre season camp and then outplay the other guys or wait for injuries or trades.it's impossible to play the celts intense d without some injuries-marcus added a teardrop that came from drills,young gained muscle in a few months-hope the celts sign holmes for d league

I see Turner traded first. I think Rozier was drafted so if we could get a big for Smart we would have the depth to do so. Hunter and Rozier doing D league minutes this year will not hurt until we see a trade that makes sense. I think AB will go if we have a big too go out.

He's a good player, and Smart is not a point guard.

Smart is not a point guard. HA!  He is actually a franchise point guard, you know, the kind you build a whole team around. I'll say it again dud is an outside linebacker in a point guard body, and has size speed toughness and can get wherever he wants on the court with his first step. Jerry colangelo calls him Team USA point guard of the future. and hes captain of the Youth national team. what more do u want.

He's a good player, and Smart is not a point guard.

His PG skills still need work, but his passing and ball handling have looked significantly better in SL. The best plan of attack for our future backcourt would be to start Smart and Rozier as the 'guards' and have both handle the ball handling duties IMO. This would be contingent on both improving as shooters, but I think they both have the fundamentals and drive to accomplish just that. With added range, Rozier's quickness and athleticism, Smart's strength, and both of their defensive capabilities, that could be one fearsome backcourt.

I'll say it until he proves me otherwise, Rozier OVERRATED.  I actually watched a bit of Cardinal basketball and Rozier never jumped off the screen to me.  He could prove me wrong, but so far not even that impressed with him in the d-league.

Hunter just a gut feeling he's going to be a J.J. Redick at best but could also be a Jimmer Fredette and be a great shooter but just can't make it.

Rozier has talent, he's a nice tough defender, he's quick, he free's up well, he just doesn't look like he's a point guard. His college stats didn't scream PG. I'm not seeing him creating.
Are we going to get into that thing where we hope he grows into a PG? Like we tried with Bradley?

Hunter has the size that Jim Fredette wishes he had. The kid is 6-6 with long arms, he has a decent feel for the game. He may be the shooter we're looking for. With all the guards we have...D-league.

How can you say that a guy who got drafted in the middle of the first round, after projecting to go late first round, is overrated? Especially when said player is an elite athlete who can score and defend.

As for Hunter, I don't get this comparison - he's nothing like Reddick.  Reddick never had the tools (at 6'4" with a short wingspan and limited athleticism) to be a good defensive player.

Hunter has excellent size for a SG (6'6" with a 6'10" wingspan) and decent (if not outstanding) athleticism, which gives him pretty good defensive potential.  i see him being able to defend positions 1-3 with little trouble.  The potential to become a 2-way player does (IMHO) make him a very different player to Reddick.  If Hunter can put on muscle mass he has impressive potential.

I don't see any similarity between Rozier and Bradley as far as PG skills.  Rozier already a better passer and ball handler as a rookie (who hasn't played an actual NBA game yet) then Bradley is as a 4 - 5 years vet.  He had 16 points and 7 assists the other night - Bradley has recorded 7 assists only twice in 5 years lol

Yeah I know that this is summer league, but did Bradley ever put up assist numbers like that in summer league?


Rozier is already a pretty good ball handler and a decent (not good, but decent) passer.  Give then guy a year or two in Brad Steven's system and he'll be perfectly fine.
