Denver's Wilson Chandler agreed to a four-year, $46M extension, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

I know he had been a popular name on here as a trade target but we can cross him off now.

My thoughts from the DKC reddit page:

For the current market it's in line.

I think that in a year or two, though, we're going to see a correction. Teams will save their money for star guys, and the middle-class salaries will dry up. Paying a borderline starter $10 million per year -- i.e., about 10% of the cap even after it spikes -- still isn't great business.

It's fine if you only do it with one guy. The problem is when you start signing multiple non-stars to medium contracts. If you figure an elite team needs two max guys (let's say 30% of the cap each) and a third strong player (20%), that's $80 million taken up of a $100 million cap. Signing guys like Chandler to another 10% of the cap really limits your flexibility if you want to achieve that top tier of contention.

Galo here we come!

Especially as they could've renegotiated with either and chose Chandler. I wouldn't be surprised if Gallo is gone soon.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Yeah, it sounds as if Gallo wasn't all that interested in extending right now.

I think he's expecting a bounce back season for himself and will look to cash in next summer when contracts will start to look ridiculous.

I think this is party true.  However sometimes you need higher priced role players ombined with young players & draft picks to match salaries in trades (unless if you are way under the cap).  Plus no big time free agent is going to sign in Denver.  So I think they need to go this route either hoping to trade for a star one day, or draft one if they get lucky.

I was hoping that he would be our trade target. That isn't happening now. I thought he was a better fit for this team than Gallanari. This makes me think we might go into the season as is.

If we do make a move Gallo is probably the best option now.
