How do you fill the Bill Simmons shaped hole in your life?

Cool, guy. Make sure to keep your pinkies out when holding that book. All kidding aside, that does seem like an interesting read.

Like some people have mentioned, Lowe Post and Celtics Beat are good podcasts. I've also listened to Insiders Sports Podcast and NBA Lockdown, which are pretty decent. Although, I agree that nothing has replaced Simmons's ability to recruit quality guests and tendency to bring all NBA talk back to the Celtics.

About his possible occasional posts on celticsblog, I would narrow the search by looking for the wordiest posts with the most comparisons of NBA players to 80s action movies.

Definitely felt his absence during the playoffs, draft and free agency. I'd be willing to bet when he pops up again he'll have some "how I spent my summer" recap of everything he wanted to comment on.

I miss his podcasts most, though.

This summer I learned a ton about the modern cap situation by listening(cap holds, eligble raises, early bird rights) by listening to Realgm's "Dunc'd On" Podcast.

It's a bit light on the entertainment factor but these two know their stuff. Nate Duncan is a lawyer by trade, I find he has a good balance between speaking ability and cap knowledge.

Good point, the more I listened to Jalen the less I liked him (too many tired catch phrases) but he and Simmons definitely made each other better.

I really enjoyed watching them think on their feet when the Raptors picked Bruno Cabacalo and Jalen came up with the excuse that some teams can't really sign free agents so they have to draft their guy and take risks, to which Simmons argued that in that case they could just have traded back and taken the Heat's offer to get Shabazz Napier. I thought they were both right and both bringing up good points I wouldn't have thought of

Honestly I just have not been that interested in sports since Bill got fired.    I follow it but do not enjoy it nearly as much.

Could have something to do with me being a Phillies fan too .  God they suck and they are gonna be stuck in the suck for a long time.

I have Sirius XM Radio in my car so I listen to NBA Radio all the time. Justin Termine is their BS with less homer-isms. Their whole crew from Frank Isola and Malik Rose in the morning to Justin Termine and Eddie Johnson/Mike Dunleavey Sr. and everyone in between is pretty entertaining actually...minus Jared Greenberg. He sucks.

I was into Amin Elhassan's contributions to the NBA Lockdown and TruehoopTV podcasts before Bill was let go and now I follow him more in the absence of Bill. Yeah, not a Celtics homer like Bill obviously but I enjoy the well-rounded look at the NBA. Plus I don't cry over the fact that Amin calls out people's idiotic twitter comments like others do. I like that he keeps it real and he's pretty responsive on Twitter.

Zach Lowe has always been entertaining. He has a good relationship with JJ Redick apparently and has had him on two podcasts, one from this week chronicling JJ's participation in Deandre's recruitment. I've also enjoyed Jalen and Jacoby, although the best episodes of that featured BS and vice versa. Grantland's NBA After Dark podcast is alright too but I can see where the hosts' personalities wouldn't mesh with members here.
