This should be fun.

Who do you think will win more games next year, the Kings or the Celts?

Compare their rosters as of now.

Celtics

Smart - Bradley - Turner - Lee - Johnson
--------------------------------------------------
Thomas - Crowder - Jerebko - Sullinger - Zeller
--------------------------------------------------
Rozier - Hunter - Young - Olynyk - Mickey

Kings

Rondo - Belinelli - Gay - Cousins - WCS
--------------------------------------------------
Collison - McLemore - Butler - Casspi - Koufos
--------------------------------------------------
Not sure who their third stringers are.

The Kings have added plenty of useful pieces this summer.  The main question, I think, is do they fit?

There's no question in my mind the Kings have more talent on their roster.  And you have to admit that their coach has more impressive career credentials than Brad Stevens, even though he hasn't done much coaching in the last few years.

Still, if things come together in Sacramento -- and Karl has done a great job piecing together disparate pieces in the past -- they could be a lot better than the Celts.  This may come down to whether the Kings can stay away from drama and just focus on winning games.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The Celtics will because the Kings will trade us DMC for the 7th pick and 10th pick from the Nets and Mavs.  :P

Celtics. I can say with relative certainty that at some point this season the Kings locker room will descend into utter chaos and the organization will collapse in on itself like a dying star.

Ah yes, I should have specified "in Reality, As Opposed to the Dreams of Celtics Fans" in the post title.

What if we assume the Kings don't implode or trade Cousins?

I think that the Kings are the more talented team, but that we'll win for three major reasons:
1. We're in the east
2. That locker room is gonna be a mess
3. I doubt Karl lasts the season as head coach
I'm bitter.

Honestly, I think it's more likely than not that one of those things happens. But if we must assume that they survive the season intact, I'll still pick the Cs.

Rondo- It's sad to see, but he's nowhere near the player he once was. He may be more of a detriment than an asset to an NBA team at this point.

Belinelli- Admittedly, I don't know much about him, but he seems to be a good- not transcendent- 3 point shooter who can help to stretch the floor.

Gay- Solid player if he can stay healthy. I've seen a few interesting things detailing how every team Gay leaves improves though.

Cousins- Best center in the NBA, but I still don't like the pairing with WCS. I think Cousins would be at his best next to a solid stretch 4.

WCS- Good to great defensive player with no offensive game. Again, I don't like the pairing with Cousins.

I see a lot of talent. Honestly, Cousins alone might provide more talent than our entire roster, but that speaks to how highly I think of Cousins, not how little I think of our guys. Ultimately, they have some good pieces who won't fit together IMO.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the East.

This is exactly why I read these.  Ha ha.

Difficult to compare.
The Kings will be very good offensively. Not sure how they will win games defensively, specially in the west.
If they were in the east, I believe they would have a better chance than Boston.
But I'll stick with Boston.
Sacramento : 40 wins
Boston : 48 wins

The Celtics by a mile.

We generally have good spacing and play good defense, they generally have bad spacing and play no defense.

I think we are better than them head to head and they are in the west so they will lose a lot more games.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Celtics play in an easier conference and have a competent front office that is less prone to, say, fire any coach that makes progress over a season but has to deal with a significant injury to their best player.

Sacramento pretty clearly has a better team.

I would have to guess that Sac will win more games, more talent, more versatile scorers and mainly they have Cousins.

C's might be close though, and might have a bigger chance of getting to the playoffs.

to be honest, I don't know, but I might give the edge to the Celtics...

the Kings are better, but I think with all the egos surrounding, Rondo, Cousins and Karl, they are going to struggle early on in the season and probably pick it up around December, all-star break

our team is basically the same team from last year with some new additions and at this point, a bit more team oriented...have a year under their belt

I think we will see what we saw the last half of the season last year...

I say we get anywhere between 45-48 wins

Kings 35 -40 wins

I think for all the criticisms we've made about the "amorphous blob of players" on the C's (which is a valid criticism IMO), the Kings are worse. I don't see how they can defend at any position and I can't see any cohesive lineups. Add to that the immaturity of their best player and how horribly their organization is run, I think you have to pick the Celtics.

Based on last years standings that would put us in the 4-5 seed in the east.  Do you really think our roster is a top 4-5 team in the east?  At this point I am not convinced.
