Wow what a turnaround from last game!! We started off slow and it seemed like we were going to have to bare through another 4 quarters of mediocre basketball but wow!

I'll just say right off the bat the team gets an A for today.

Smart- A+
Efficient scoring by driving and shooting the 3 ball. He even had a nice floater. He was hustling for balls, energized the team and set everyone up on offense. His stat line says it all 22 pts 7 asts 3 stls 1 blk on 9-14 shooting 4-6 from 3

Rozier- A
He showed off his potential to be a scorer and when the backcourt of him and Marcus was on the floor they were unbelievable. Defense, hustle, rebounding, mid range game, 3 pointers falling and a very fast first step. Great game.

Hunter- A
He showed he needs to work on his defense but his length will definitely help with that. He finally got his shot going and 4-4 from 3 and was a lot more aggressive.

Holmes- B-
Great shooting from 3 and was hustling. If he had a center next to him he could be a lot better

Mickey- B
Shot the ball well around 50% and almost had a double double with 9 pts and 9 rebounds. The same goes for Mickey he needs a center beside him to truly see how he can play but great game. He finally started boxing out and was playing stronger when under the basket.

Young- F
He just doesn't have a great basketball iq or the fire needed to succeed. He had another bad shooting night and got injured. I believe Young has been surpassed by Hunter and Rozier on the depth chart and I don't think he will touch a NBA floor this year. It's sad he had the most potential before summer league started but now it seems like he'll be stuck in the D league all year

Smart - A+
Hunter - A - breakout SL game.  Didn't miss an open 3. Better defender than I thought
Rozier - A- (Still needs to touch up on his drive and pop, a couple of bad turnovers)
Mickey - B
Homes - B

I hope we can develop Holmes through the D league

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
If Holmes keeps that shooting, he can land a roster spot.

He hustles, boxes out and just lays it out on the court. If he can consistently shoot, that's a guy who can play 7-10 minutes on NBA team, with the way the league is moving.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I agree. He is already a solid defender. Effort is nice.  Knows where to be on the court

Just needs to touch upon his shooting and identify the open man better.

Smart: A+
That game was... perfection. Smart shot the lights out. His passing was tremendous. His hustle was trademark Smart. He was a defensive ace. I've always been a big Smart fan, but this was something else.

Rozier: A
Terry was solid in just about every way. Decent D, nice shooting stroke, good passing, great hustle, and unbelievable quickness and general athleticism. I've been really impressed by Rozier and really hope he gets some playing time during the regular season.

Hunter: A
Hunter's D has been such a pleasant surprise. Tonight, Hunter put on a shooting CLINIC, really nice night.

Mickey: B
Solid play. Mickey has been a very nice surprise on offense, but his defense has been pretty disappointing. He finally rebounded well tonight. Trouble is he seemed a bit invisible tonight, but a good performance. I think Mickey has a bright future as a very solid rotational player.

Young: F
I fear the injury saved us from seeing another terrible performance by Young. So far, it just seems like James Young is bad at basketball, in basically every way. He's still 19, so I'm willing to be patient, but Young has to start producing soon.

Fair: C-
He's got some talent, but is very selfish out there and seems unable to pass.

Holmes: B-
He looked fine, showed some flashes, but was nothing amazing. He might be worth a shot in the D-League though, so I'd be pretty happy if he ends up on the Red Claws.

Final thoughts: Smart and Rozier are our future. I'm super excited about them. Hunter and Mickey have potential to be really good supporting guys. Holmes may have NBA talent.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

If the Celtics traded Young, I wouldn't be sad. :-\
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I will agree with the OP on this. The thing that jumped out at me tonight was confidence. Everyone, mostly, looked pretty calm and confident. And we know these guys can play, you can't make it to this league without being able to, but you need to have confidence and just go out and do what you know how to do.

I also thought that they played really really good defense, generally. There were steals, getting out on the break, decent rebounding, blocking out, and these things are the formula for winning in the future.

Good game all around.

Oneal was everywhere.  Probably won't make team but showed slot of hustle.  Great game all around.  The offense looked more intentional run this game which made a big difference for everyone except cj fair ::)

I honestly think this all stems from Smart; he's a leader.

  • GOT IT!!!
Smart is going to be a good one. There's nothing you need to say about that dude. Hunter and Rozier are NBA players, you can see something there. Rozier's quickness you can't coach and Hunter can shoot it from all over the floor. Young is getting surpassed. The mentality is not there with him. He was starting to pout after he got hurt.

Smart was a beast and Rozier looked much better, we may have something with him. I like him bringing the ball up with Smart in the back court with him.

Hunter did well also.
