I have a friend that knows someone somewhere that was told that someone told him that he believes Danny is targeting another guard.  :D

We should defiantly expect another move. He has made so many moves over the last year, why would they stop now? i think part of the plan is to get 2 seasons worth of rebuilding trades done each year. And Brad's job is to develop a constantly changing roster.

I wouldn't be sure about anything until it is signed. I doubt we would back out on Johnson but it could be worked as a sign and trade. The Lee deal could be reworked too. I think we probably only have agreed that we would take Lee off their hands, we may still be able to make it a 3 team deal or make a subsequent deal.

Danny might be able to get something out of Bass, Gigi, Pressey and Babb.

Oh and as for holding out hope for Cousins, go for it! I held out hope on KG for 2 years before we got him, a lot of snide comments, but then we got him. I was pretty certain on KG, we at least that we were doing everything with an eye on getting him. I don't feel as strongly about Cousins, but I do see some similarities.

But Deandre got criticized for changing his mind. Shouldn't Danny get criticized if he does the same thing?

He's not changing his mind.  He is just keeping a tentative agreement tentative.  He has too much character to go back on his word, hence why he stuck to his draft promise to JR Giddens even when, ironically, DeAndre Jordan unexpectedly was still available.

My suspicion is that he is trying to figure out if he can still use Pressey's unguaranteed contract for something before July 15.  If he can, then Babb is sent to Golden State as the necessary salary in the Lee-Wallace deal.  If not, then Pressey gets sent and Ainge still has Babb's contract to use in a deal.  He could just send Pressey now, but someone might actually want Pressey, so why make the deal before you explore all options?

It can be something small like Pressey for a minimum salary veteran third-string big-body center who can be used to provided mediocre but credible defense against bigger centers.

Wait a gosh darn minute Cannon, is that true? Where did you get that from, did he have interest in Jordan. That's the time to forget about you word and take Jorda.

The Celtics' Instagram account posted pictures welcoming Amir and welcoming back Jonas, so I assume that their deals are official.

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed free agent forward Amir Johnson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. “Amir is a proven, young veteran and an exciting addition to our team,” said Danny Ainge, Celtics President of Basketball Operations. “His length, athleticism, rebounding and shooting ability will help us on both ends of the court.”

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have re-signed forward Jonas Jerebko. HMMMM

It has been mentioned , but maybe Gallo , Parsons, who else?

Gallo please.

Parsons is overrated, and Chandler is a good role player. But Gallo to me is the only player that in my mind out of the 3 can be a superstar if healthy.

You talk overrated, you're talking about Gallo.  I really don't see the big deal with him.  He's young and has had two major knee surgeries.  I think people forget about this.

Gallo shoots like a PIG!!!  41% FG...clang, clang, clang.

It seems like you lack the math skills to properly evaluate the value of players who take threes as a high percentage of their shots.

No need to be a wisea$$ about it.  His shooting stinks.  You may want to check the numbers before you act like a know it all.
His 3pt% is .367.  His 2pt % is .461.  Compared to other guys that shoot a lot of 3s, that's not particularly good.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Makes sense.  I'd take parsons or barnes for Sully.  Dallas might want their pick back now.  Hence the hold up.

"trade ideas" like this make this board so hard to stomach sometimes.  really?  Golden State is gonna fork over a guy with the hype and potential of Barnes that has just started scratching the surface of what he can be, straight up for an undersized, overweight, injury prone power forward in Sullinger?

i beg of this board, PLEASE stop overvaluing our guys.  proven commodities like Parsons or mega upside youngsters like Barnes are NOT being dealt for Jared Sullinger.  Sully is a nice little player but seeing the prestiege he's held in on these boards (along with the likes of Olynyk, Smart, Hunter, Crawford, and Zeller all at times) is downright unrealistic, if not laughable.

you want a trade of Harrison Barnes involving Sullinger?  be prepared to part with a Nets pick and one of our guards as well.

Thank u.  I mean it's great to dream but let's be realistic.  Isn't this what got everyone so bummed this offseason...overvaluing our assets and rationalizing how hey could parlay into a superstar.

I'm with you.  He does not excite me.  Good 3 point shooter, but rather slow, can't create much on his own, which is like the most important quality to have in a 3.  Pierce wasn't fast, but he was able to create his own shot all night long. Man I miss him.

Yeh, not thrilled with Gallinari either...

But we do need a scorer and a starting caliber wing (I still question whether Crowder/Jerebko will prove to be that) so I wouldn't object if the cost was reasonable.

His injury history scares me though.
