both have fallen victim to the unethical practices of one Glenn Rivers.

It was not too long ago that the Celtics were working on a deal to trade KG to the Clippers for DJ when Glenn Rivers while still in the employ of the Celtics made it clear to the Clippers who he was negotiating with that DJ to Boston should not happen.

Fast Forward to 2015 DJ after meeting with all teams he wanted to meet with gave a verbal commitment to the Mavericks. Everyone knew at that point that Clippers were TOAST because they did not have a plan B. Once again Rivers without regard to business ethics takes his entire starting five to Houston to court a player that had given a very public commitment to another team. Legal as his acts may have been they do fall beneath the conduct of honorable men.

Anyone that thinks DJ just had a change of heart over the weekend without any prodding or nudging by the Clippers can continue to dwell in the bliss of ignorance.

Whoa. I dont see it like that at all.

I would hope Ainge would do everything possible also to keep a talent like Deandre Jordan.

I applaud his competitiveness.  It's business.  Makes that Dallas pick we have look way better too.

Again, I repeat, DeAndre waivered and was the one who reached out to the Clippers about regretting going to the Mavs.  The outrage on this one is silly, to me.  They should change the rules but until they do, this can happen and it has before.

Blaming it on Rivers... man... some of you guys are real hung up on him.

Both reluctant to bottom out in order to fully rebuild.

There is no question the Clippers want and need DJ. If DJ reached out to the Clippers he would have been welcomed home, they would not have to send the entire franchise to his home.

Pal none of this is on the Clippers or Doc. Multiple reports said DJ contacted them first because he got cold feet. He wanted to feel loved by the Clips. The Clips agreed to do this because like you said, they had no plan B. Blake even told DJ before he agreed with Dallas that DJ could go wherever he wanted and he would have been happy for DJ.

So basically what you are saying is that the Clippers called his bluff. Quite possible. This just proves that these are grown men playing a kids game, so they cannot help but act like kids.

That shows you want him and brings both sides together.  It's a show of good faith that you really do want him back and everyone is in that together.

Woj tweeted this was all settled very quickly and they hung out and played cards for the night (to the point where Griffin was tweeting out multiple jokes about the "hostage situation" like scenario the media was representing).  DeAndre had made up his mind that he wanted to go back and the rest was just the two sides coming together as a team.

The only kid here is Deandre Jordan. The fact remains that HE called them and asked them to meet HIM because HE wanted to go back. He was the one that had the second thoughts. The Clips didn't call him and say, "Come on DJ. You're not really going to leave us." In fact they were preparing for life after him considering they contemplated trading Jamal Crawford to Cleveland for Brendan's Haywood contract so they could get another big. Not to mention reports say that the meeting didn't even last that long which to me sounds like DJ told them, "Okay guys I changed my mind and I want to play for you just tell me why you want me back".

The Clippers just did what anyone else in the league would have done. Deandre Jordan is the one to despise here in this situation.

Twist it however you like if it helps you release some of the bitter feelings you have for Doc. Doesn't change the fact that he's gone and it's time to move on. Think of happier things, like say, that pick that Dallas owes the Celtics that just became a whole lot sweeter after tonight.

The only person to blame...

Rondo! I bet he called DJ and told him about his experience.  ;D
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

no bitter feelings about Glenn Rivers, just never liked him, not when he was a player, not when he coached the Cs was very happy to see him go.

Truth right there.
These ^*$# riders need to put down the haterade.
Even if doc did do it, he's a beast for going to the deathbed with his commitment to the franchise.
Danny Ainge would've done the same and made it the Mavs fault., and if he didn't then I'm questioning his Celtic pride.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
