i think we all are on the same page as far as what the next move will be for this roster, that being that Ainge will probably make a trade that will involve exchanging some guards and/or wings and/or picks for a big man.

The names have been thrown around here a bunch are of the Noel, Faried, Hibbert (pre being traded to LA) variety.

so thus is my question, assuming we are going after a big man, which (realistic) target do you hope us to land?

Noel probably isn't happening, and Faried doesn't really do anything for me.  one idea i've had lately that i haven't seen mentioned is Alex Len of the Phoenix Suns.  Young big man that i think we may be able to get on the cheap via his significant injury history.  Obviously, yes, he is a risk.  but he also has shown flashes of what he can be:  a rim protector that can easily run the pick and roll as well as stretch the floor a bit and hit the mid range jumpers (even 3s on very rare occasions).

The Suns like this kid but all reports from them lately are that they are trying to move on from an unhappy Markieff Morris as their PF, and not to mention they just signed Tyson Chandler to be their starting Center for the forseeable future with a handsome $52M/4yr contract.

What are people's thoughts on Sully, Turner, and Young (possibly a later 1st or couple of 2nds of ours as well) in exchange for Len and either PJ Tucker (versatile 3 and D guy that can guard 3 positions) OR Archie Goodwin (young Guard that can play either back court spot and hasn't really found playing time to show what he is in Phoenix....not that coming here and working in with IT, Smart, Bradley, and Hunter would easily solve that problem)?

Though there doesn't seem to be a starting spot for Len in Phoenix right now, it would still probably take a pretty package to entice the Suns to trade him away.  But here they get a definite, younger, cheaper upgrade at the 4 in Sully, another ball handler/wing defender in Turner, and the boom or bust package that is James Young to develop.

Thoughts on this deal?  and what realistic big man would you like to see/think Danny will be going after via trade soon?  interested to hear the feedback from the minds here on CB!

He has hit one 3 in his NBA career. Same amount as Javale Mcgee lol.

He has no range whatsoever. No point in writing that.

Clint Capela is they guy id go for. Hes a one year rookie but has already got some playoff experience and is more than ready to protect the rim at the NBA level. Id trade Zeller for him straight up.

sigh.....yes. he does. do some research for me one time before yelling how wrong i am. not great, but the ability to hit the mid range shot certainly is there, and growing.  plus his form certainly projects itself to him being able to take and make 3s with some work.

Capela is certainly an intriguing player.  and definitely a solid rim protector already. though to me it looks like his offensive game is nothing aside from dunks at this point.  still i think it'd take more than Zeller to get him based sheerly on the fact that he has 3 years of rookie deal left while Tyler is due for real money if not now then soon

Except you said he already can stretch the floor and sometimes even 3s. Which he cleary can't. A lot different than saying, "His form looks nice, he can shoot 3s". Nice try though!

DeAndre Jordan has hit a three before, but that doesn't mean he can hit threes
I'm bitter.

Noel is our best hope at this point.  Least talented of the three prospects the Sixers have, so probably the most gettable.

Cousins, if / when he's traded, will get sent to a team that has elite assets to give up, in my opinion.

I disagree with the first part of the bolded statement.  Which means I doubt the second part of that statement is true.  I really wish it were though.

I think he wants to play here at his home.   He'd be better than most of our bigs.
