I don't see how anyone gives Smart an A for this game. Too many questionable shots.

Thought he was the best player in the game, but that's a different judgment.

Thornton sure looked

Lost in Space .....

Hunter .....bad nite shooting .......but he did play decent otherwise ..........not ready to kill him off so quick...

I think the speed of the game had him a little messed up .......I believe Hunter has the IQ ....to figure the game out.

Watch him tomorrow ...I expect better

The Target is on Young. He got outplayed by Hunter and looked lost. We need to sign Gerald Green, Young isn't ready.

Hunter didn't outplay anybody either. He looked pretty bad except the 2 steals. His shot was not even close and can't obviously get his own shot. And who the hell is this assistant coach that coached tonight? He looked like a deer in headlights. Our secret weapon "Iverson" didn't even get off the bench.

Thoroughly displeased with everyone's performance outside of Smart. Isn't Smart the one everyone wants to get rid of so we can provide more playing time to these AAU kids?

Not aimed at OP specifically, but everyone is overreacting. It's natural, as we haven't watched Celtics bball in quite some time, but the fact is that one game represents almost no new information about any of these players. Don't worry, Hunter can still shoot, Smart will still struggle to get to the rim, Rodney Hood is still an underdog to ever start an NBA game in his life.

But I agree with the overall assessment. Smart had a great game outside of mixed bag shot selection, but nobody else played particularly well.

I'm not overreacting, just grading performance for this game. In no way does this one game heavily influence my opinion of the new guys. Mickey and Rozier both looked pretty comfortable out there - Much more so than Hunter. I like Young, and in the long run I think he'll be okay. I'm just waiting for him to have a breakout game.

Smart needs to watch his shot selection.  Young is our best scorer.  Much more efficient.  Rozier is a good scorer too.

Smart and Mickey looked NBA

Everybody else

D league

Missed Iversons rebounding and presence in the middle .  We got stomped inside.

I agree Mickey proved himself above the pack and I can see him coming off the bench at the 4 this year.

I think all of us knew Marcus was gonna look like a man among boys out there so i'm hoping he is limited to the first half next game so Rozier, Young, and Hunter can dominate the offense.

Defensively we should struggle next game I can see nobody guarding Okafor down low

Hunter looked better as the game went along. At least he seems to get it defensively. I don't believe Young will ever be a decent defender.

Do you mean Okafor is better than "COOLEY?"  hahahaha that was sad watching Cooley dominate us like Tristan Thompson.

Smart played well. Confident, aggressive, ran the show. Questionable shot selection and decision making at times but on another level from the rest of the team.

Impressed with Mickey's overall game, if he keeps it up he'll be part of the rotation. Wish he'd box out more though, get in position for those boards.

Rozier played within himself and showed flashes. Fast and tenacious, looking forward to seeing more.

Hunter didn't stand out much but improved over the course of the game, got his hands in some passing lanes.

Young has a ways to go but didn't look quite as lost as he did last season. Not exactly the breakout game he was hoping for I'm sure.

Grade = It's summer league. Good to see Celtics basketball again!

"Really good?"

What specifically did he do really good?

Smart played a very ugly game,  he didn't approach the game to win it.  His game was entirely forced and killed the overall ball movement. I'd of liked to see Rozier play the point without Smart on the floor.

Celtics will need to play more as a team and continue to pass the ball for the open shot.  Everything was pretty much bad, bad shot selection, bad passing, bad screen setting or lack thereof, bad spacing, bad communication on both offense and defense.  Looked like a team of players that never met each other before.

Let me put it this way. I can't even properly judge any of these guys playing this bad as a team. Giving players props for effort is not how I do things. Smart was just plain bad with his approach, has a terrible feel for the game.

I'd give this game overall a grade = F.

He didn't get a ton of usage I felt like but I also loved what I saw in his moments.  He looks really fast on an NBA court which means something to me.  He also has a nice handle.  He hit a nice pull up and a spot up three.  I'm excited to see more of him.
