Sounds like the Lakers are most likely now.

Suns: Be the face of the franchise. Team up with veteran Chandler and have a young promising backcourt of Bledsoe and Knight.

Spurs: Play (and win) with Duncan, Parker, Ginobli, and Pop.

I'd say Spurs but given LMA has more years left than Duncan, PHX might be the best long term choice.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

If he goes to New York:
C--Robin Lopes
PF-LaMarcus Aldridge
SF-Carmelo Anthony
SG-Aaron Affalo
PG-Jose Calderon

Not a bad team at all..they could go after Rondo  ;)
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I thought he already blew off the Lakers meeting as turrible and was signing with the Suns.

What happened from that report

Why isn't Portland an option?

The hesitation doesn't bode well for the Spurs, who I thought were gonna lock him up for sure.  Neither does it bode well for the Lakers.

I think he'll go home to Portland, or sign in Phoenix.  Maybe LaMarcus would prefer not to have the pressure of being the successor to Duncan, or being in the bright lights of LA 24/7.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Not that I would advocate doing this more than once or twice, but has a FA ever been tied, bounded, and forced to sign a contract?

I kinda hope the Spurs

As they will be the only team to seriously challenge a healthy LeBron 200 million club

  • GOT IT!!!
Now that Mavs are getting DJ I think they have a shot now.

Edit: nevermind Dirk isn't going anywhere. Spurs seem like the best fit but Miami has glamor as well.

I think the best choice for him is Miami.  Dragic/Wade/Deng/Aldridge/Bosh would be a very strong lineup.  They'd jump right to the top of the East with the Cavs.  Even if he goes to the Spurs, getting to the finals in the West is going to be much tougher.  For Miami to get Aldridge, they'd need Portland to do a sign and trade and take on a lot of salary.  Winslow would probably have to be included but it would be worth it to get Aldridge.

Probably the Spurs. Dull choice that it is.

Personally, I don't see the appeal in San Antonio. Parker 33. Duncan 39. Ginobili 38. Team is facing a rebuilding process in near future. Will be scrambling just to stay relevant during Aldridge's best remaining years.

I'd choose Phoenix if I were Aldridge. Younger talent. Bledsoe, Knight, Markieff, A.Len.

I don't think they can sign them both unless the Clips or Blazers are willing to do a sign and trade.  I'm not sure the Mavs have enough to entice them to do it.
