They don't get it, do they?  ;D

Adrian Wojnarowski ?@WojYahooNBA

Aldridge felt first meeting with Lakers was too focused on non-basketball (Hollywood, branding, etc) and Lakers want to rectify it.

As @Mike_Bresnahan says, Aldridge felt too much of Lakers presentation focused on outside opportunities; wanted clearer, better b-ball focus

Execs from AEG and TWC SportsNet will also be at the LaMarcus pitch, as will Laker VPs Tim Harris (biz) and John Black (publicity).

Who cares about AEG and TWC SportsNet!?!?

More LMA: He and Kobe didn't quite gel. It's a little vague, but Aldridge apparently didn't quite get answers from Kobe he was seeking.

While no one (especially me) will feel any pity for LA...

I have to sadly say that at least they got a meeting with him. We dont even bother trying.

ESPN sources say Robin Lopez has chosen Knicks over Lakers and will join NYK as long as DeAndre Jordan, as expected, chooses Clips or Mavs

But, but, but... Every free agent wants to go to LA for the parties and weather. :o

Hee,hee. Sometimes life is good. ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Philly owns their pick next year, right?

I bring up biyombo a lot as a Celtic target but I think he'd actually make sense in Los angeles. They need a defensive big next to Julius randle.   The last thing they need is more scoring. They should grab biyombo.

I was about to say thesame thing.  He's giving advise as if he's a fan.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
They get two meetings with a premiere free agent. We get nothing.
Reality bites.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Are you kidding? The Lakers in so much more worse shape right now. Danny Ainge is miles ahead of them. They will be watching the Celtics on TV in the playoffs next Spring.

And they'll most likely strike out, what's your point?

I think his point is at least there were meetings. It showed interest and there was a possibility. I hate the Lakers and don't care but personally I think we should have at least scheduled a few meetings with some of the top tier bigs and see what happens.

I have to agree.  Monroe going to the Bucks indicates he would have been willing to consider Boston.  I can understand not wanting to give him the kind of deal he got with Milwaukee, but to not at least have the conversation?

Disagree. If Russell is as good as experts project, the Lakers have one more future all star player than we do, a guy to build their team around.  Only thing that would change that is if one of our future picks turns out to be a top 2-3 pick in a top heavy lottery. As mediocre as Brooklyn is looking at the moment, the odds of that occurring is extremely long.
