The Pistons will send the Suns a 2020 second-round draft pick. So yes, the Suns are clearing salary cap space.

Phoenix has traded Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger to Detroit for future picks, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

You think Aldridge has chosen the Suns as his next team?

No, for the same reason that I didn't think Aldridge had already committed to the Spurs when they dumped Splitter before meeting with him. The most significant player in this deal is Morris, who's not all that special and probably needed to be separated from his twin, anyway, given that they seem a bit toxic together (both on and off the court).

I still think he goes to San Antonio.

What's odd is that now their only SF on their roster is TJ Warren. (edit: forgot about Tucker)

In the end, I think Markief ends up becoming a trade chip for another piece if they get Aldridge.

Kind of surprised Morris was traded because I think he has serious legal stuff hanging over him. I don't have the link off hand but read a pretty in depth article about him and his brother gang beating someone at a basketball game.

Suns need to get off Markieff Morris/PJ Tucker in sign-and-trades or dumps to get closer to space needed for Chandler and Aldridge.

Suns have no assurance that Aldridge will sign, but the fact that he's suddenly so intrigued has motivated them to push hard.

I believe we still have the cap space (and will until Crowder signs) to absorb Markieff Morris. I would do that in a heart beat to help them facilitate getting Aldridge.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The Lakers have expressed a desire to get a second meeting with Aldridge, but unclear if that'll happen, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

LaMarcus Aldridge is considering the possibility of taking a visit or two in free agency, sources tell Yahoo. No decision is imminent.

That would be great. Especially if we get an unprotected pick in 2017.

Not at all surprising after seeing this.

They're not that desperate.

Is Marcus the evil twin?

I thought the twins can't be separated

If CW on the Morris twins is true, there is absolutely no way Markieff is playing for Phoenix next year. I didn't think there was any good way for Phoenix to trade them-- don't both twins have poison pill provisions set up to make it less likely that they will be traded and separated?

I'm amazed at how fast a really neat and tight team like the 2013-2014 Suns has turned into... well whatever this is.

You think this is bad? The Blazers were just as exciting as the Suns that year, except they actually made it to the playoffs (with a Lillard series-clinching buzzer-beating 3 to make it to the second round, to boot). Two years later, they're on the verge of losing four-fifths of their starting lineup all at once.

Reggie Bullock (SF) and Marcus Morris (PF) can replace Caron Butler and Anthony Tolliver as the Pistons backup main SF + PF next season. Nice low cost additions. Young and still improving too.
