He was a rookie last season.   He is going to break out this year.  He probably isn't going to quiet those who want to trade him but I hope the C's don't. He is going to be huge this season.

Someone once said a player that reminds him of Smart is Draymond Green, and I can totally see that.

RJ Hunter has already come out and said how much of a impact and vocal ferocity Smart has on the court as a leader.

I can see Smart averaging numbers like 12/5/5/1.7-2.0 SPG.

Those aren't the sexiest numbers, but the impact he'll make defensively, and the fearlessness he displays on the court will be numbers you can't put on a stat sheet. Plus, wasn't he the player leading our team in RPM?

I hope we don't trade him for Noel. Just reading the pick of Rozier puzzled him too.  Hopefully it motivates him.   I remember when the cowboys drafted Steve Walsh when they had Troy Aikman who was their top pick.   Steve Walsh became an afterthought.  He was just drafted as insurance vs handing Aikman the job.

Getting Amir Johnson shows me the celtics want to roll with Smart instead of trading him for Noel.  I hope that's the plan.  Build around Marcus.

1.3 in 27 MPG constitutes as a turnover machine? You also didn't take into account Smart wasn't ever a PG in high school, but a SG.

Give him some time, and we'll go from there.

We have draft picks to get a center to go with Smart ultimately.  Amir is here to just help out Smart take over for the time being. Trading Smart for Noel would be shortsighted.

I'm not afraid to say I'm one of (few?) who wanted Smart over Randle. Apparently Randle is the second coming of Karl Malone according to some people on here.

While he's only played ONE year, look at what similar size/type guards did in their first year (Lowry, Bledsoe) and I'd say Smart can get there. He's not Westbrook or Wall but plenty of people wouldn't mind having the next Lowry or Bledsoe.

I'm excited for next season.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Key thing is his ball handling.

He gets his ball handling up, he'll drive more, and then he'll be subject to have a huge year.
Already stronger than 80% of the guards in the league. Shown he can hit an open 3 pointer.
Can def pass.

Off-Season Regime for him should be.

BallHandling
Getting in better shape cutting some body Fat
Continue to improve 3 pointer
pull up mid ranger/ floater.

And he should average 13-15ppg easily with 26min per.

HUGE?

C's are trying to win the division. Reason I predict this is they stole Amir away from Toronto who was a big  helper for a guy like lowry.  Plus we drafted Rozier to kick him in the butt.  Smart is an ego guy.

We win the division suddenly we are the 3rd seed. Looks much better.  Then we can go out and get a player to play with Marcus.
