Just can't see Amir starting at the PF spot and Zeller starting at center.  None of these guys are consistent threat from the perimeter and CBS system requires at least one stretch big out on the floor at all times

If Amir starts at center and one of Sully or KO starts at PF , I can't see Zeller/KO or Zeller/Sully coming off the bench.  Neither combination worked out well last season.

So is Zeller the odd man out?  Sullinger also could be traded.

One more move (to clean up the C/PF part of the roster) needs to happen before the season starts.

I sorta see him in the Bass role if that makes sense.

We will see how it shakes out. I think the best starting combination is Olynyk and Johnson. However, maybe Johnson can do what Millsap did and go from shooting a high percent on 3's and not taking many to taking a lot more and keeping a high percentage.

If Johnson ends up being able to shoot 3's you could easily play him with Zeller.

The Zeller/Sullinger lineups had a pretty good plus minus so I think they would work as back ups. I personally don't think we should pay Sully next year so dealing him wouldn't be terrible.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Good question. Better yet, what is going to be the starting 5 next year? We got a good rhythm out of Smart-Bradley-Turner-Bass-Zeller.

Bass is (most likely) gone. Sully should be back healthy. Now Johnson's on the roster. My best guess is Johnson is the 3rd big that brings energy off the bench playing with IT. My best guess for the starting five next year at the start:

PG:Marcus Smart
SG:Avery Bradley
SF:Evan Turner
PF:Jared Sullinger
C:Tyler Zeller

But I could be wrong. As you said, Zeller and Sully may not be the best pairing.

So Zeller and Johnson to start?

I just can't see Johnson being paid 12 million to come off the bench

Gerald Wallace gets paid $10 million to do nothing.

Johnson shot the three once in a while. And he has a limit as to how many he shoots the three. Maybe 2 at most one game. He lacks perimeter skills in terms of ball handling though has adequate passing skills

lol. He has probably the best job in basketball. Maybe in the world

But Danny was forced to take on Wallace contract. He chose to sign Amir

I have been saying for some time now that Zeller is not a starting calibre NBA center - not if you have serious Playoff aspirations.

Zeller is most valuable as a backup center, and hopefully that is what his role will be. If he is starting for us then (assuming we don't get a huge star signing) we aren't going to get too far IMO.

Wasn't forced...

He could have let KG and Pierce expire (both had only 1 or 2 years left on their contacts) but wanted to get assets back for them that would help build the future.

Was a decision, nothing was forced.

Zeller will most likely come off the bench to provide scoring along with Isaiah Thomas. Can't see Zeller starting next year.

I think Johnson/IT/Olynyk can be lethal all together in the second unit. But you never know.

He was forced, if he wanted the picks. And you can't just let PP and KG walk for nothing
