Anyone else feel the same way as me?  Because it sure doesn't seem like it sometimes.

Well, I think Ainge is simply trying to keep acquiring assets and maintaining financial flexibility so when a homerun opportunity presents itself, he can pounce.  I don't think he can be blamed for the homerun opportunity not presenting itself yet.

Trying to get more productive discussion going and it was sort of a joke.  People should be able to see the humor. Kind of true too.  If people thought Danny made sense this wouldn't be a post about it.

I mean signing the guys to one year guaranteed with a second team option makes since in making the players extremely trade able. On the other hand, I just don't think Amir is worth the kind of money they gave him. I understand they had to make the first year higher money to get him to agree to the team option second year, but still, 12 million is a real lot.

I really do hope there are subsequent moves.

What he's doing makes perfect sense to me. I've made posts why I feel that way as well.  Not sure how anyone can't really see what he's doing either because it does.

Ainge is doing a fantastic job.  That seems to be a very unpopular opinion around here and in general.

I'm excited about Amir Johnson. I think it's a great signing.  Hustle guy. Blocks shots. Same with Jerebko. Hustle guy.

If we ultimately get that star player we want players like this.  The small signings that lead to that get me excited just as much I guess.

It's a team game.  The celtics are building a foundation in another way is all.

I know exactly what they are doing.  I just don't know why.

They are trying to drive their fans crazy.  They are trying to put some of us into a mental hospital.

I just explained why though. Yes some people are crazy.

He's doing nothing but kicking the can another year down the (time)road.  It may, in  his defense, be his only option.

But to claim that he's doing a fantastic job is just trolling the fan base, because he's doing no such thing.

I also don't think he can be blamed for current homer oppurtunities not wanting to sign here.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I'm fine with that though. DA took gambles on guys like Sully and KO and AB and Smart and guys like that to give us a nucleus that would pay dividends down the road.  If you look at how he drafts he takes players based on upside and develops them.  We are drafting lower in the draft so that is the smart way to do it.

These aforementioned players are now ready to pay dividends. We might ultimately hit a homerun somewhere but in the interm he's putting better pieces around them so we can challenge for the division and hopefully a higher playoff seed.

Fans want the home run but I'm not mortgaging our future for that.  It's a team game.

Ainge has an ability to find the marginal talents in the draft.  That would be a great ability, if the team were already stocked with top talent.  Since it's not, this ability is actually a weakness when it comes to improving the team, because the Celtics end up with an inflated record.  These players aren't good.  They're just good enough.

And that's the problem.
