we're stuck in midlevel nba hell.

How can 1 year deals make us stuck anywhere?

Don't worry guys, Ainge isn't done.

He's gonna trade Bradley, Sullinger, and Wallace for Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler.

Loadin' up on expiring guys in their mid to late 20s who will help the team secure a win total in the 40-45 range.

You know if you don't like the Celtics you can simply not watch them and watch another and come back when (or if) they become contenders again.

Why sign Johnson at all? I'm not excited about another bridge year, but if that's what we're in for, and we can't get a difference maker to move the needle much this year, why not just ride it out with basically what we already had, and keep developing the younger guys? If the goal is simply filling out the roster, there are cheaper ways of doing it.

I'm fine with Ainge being patient and not leveraging all of the assets of the team unless he thinks the guy he's getting will be really good.

My issue is, if you're not going to make some moves to steer this thing upward, what is the point of maintaining the course right back to the same place again -- the middle?  I don't understand that.

Our roster is a joke. And there are no "bigger moves" coming. I'm done buying the Celtics hype that they sell us every year. Our young players are over rated. Our future picks are over rated. And Ainge is over rated. Stevens is a great coach, but he cares more about his system than getting more talented players. He seems like a nice guy and all but he has an ego. Our ownership group is from Bain Capital. They don't care about me, they don't care about you, they don't care about us, they don't even care about the players, they care about numbers. That's what all this is, numbers. This "asset collection" thing is a very business like thing to do, there are no feelings with this strategy. Same with the "system" that Stevens runs. No feelings, just puzzle pieces. Stevens, Ainge, our ownership group, they are all cut from the same cloth, they all have the same philosophy. As a fan base we have to stop blindly supporting Ainge, Wyc, etc. They are doing bad at their job right now.

We have cap room and we can cut him after a year.

Ainge and Stevens want to be competitive actually.

If Johnson just takes Bass' minutes that's good for us.

cheap Danny won't overpay. Only for certain kind of players

That's not "cheap", that's being smart.

At the same time, I'd rather have Harris than Johnson + Jerebko, and those two combined cost more than Harris.
Thats what's frustrating. I wish we didn't even sign these guys back if we weren't going for Harris.

I'm sure if Tobias Harris agreed to a 2 year 34 million dollar with the second year non guaranteed deal we would do it in a heartbeat but that's not the case.

This Amir deal is designed to create another trade chip, and one that can be moved with no problem and also help to accommodate bigger trades.

Best victim post yet.  You guys really think they aren't trying to do deals or sign real big time free agents?  Unreal.

I guess Ainge is Emperor Palpatine, pulling the wool over your eyes because he wants all your money.  Hopefully I wise up and realize it before my soul is truly lost and I feel the hate flow through me.

You got it baby.

:)

Actually, I would kinda like the move I mentioned.  Gallo and Chandler could be fun to watch, add some size and scoring punch on the wing.  Actually upgrade the shooting on the team.

They might not be very good, but I'd like the Celts to at least be more entertaining next year.  Simply being surprisingly hard-working like last season isn't going to cut it.

Well I don't mean any offense (and If I offended him I'm sorry) but If he's constantly disappointed with the Celtics, then he just take break calm down and watch other teams instead of being constantly stressed on why Anige isn't doing any moves.

Not even Johnson can make the C's a 16 win team

CBS can take a load of college rejects and make the playoffs ........at least in the east.

Falling for the front office's drivel hook, line and sinker. Yet another supposed "trade chip"... to accommodate a "bigger trade".... Come on.

Celtics front office being made up of evil dark lords trying to fool us all with talk of trying to compete for a title is my new favorite theory of this special forum we call home.
